Not ovulating/getting pregnant after miscarriage

I recently had a miscarriage in oct I was 8 weeks. I had to have a D&C early Nov due to retained product. End of Nov I found out I was pregnant again (didn't have a period between D&C and pregnancy) unfortunately my levels weren't doubling and naturally miscarriged just before Christmas. Scan confirmed on 28th Dec that I had no retained product. Since then I know its only been 3 months but I haven't been getting pregnant ( I have 2 children and got pregnant first month of trying) I know this is really lucky but I'm in such a worry as to why I'm not getting pregnant now. Last month I tracked ovulation and I don't think I'm ovulating (no egg white mucus when I usually notice a lot) since my last miscarriage in Dec my cycle has been longer, used to be 28 days and last month was 31 days and this month I am on day 28 but no period yet but negative pregnancy test. 😢

It sounds like you’ve been through a lot recently.

It’s not what you want to hear but it can be normal to take a while, even if in the past you caught first time. In my first pregnancy I caught first time and it ended in a miscarriage (with d&c for retained products 5weeks after it). Then I went three months and conceived again, I’m now in the third trimester. I have friends who it took eight months and that’s also completely normal. I think anything up to a year can be typical.

When you say you tracked ovulation did you use opk tests and bbt? After the d&c my typical cycle signs/cm went a little awry and my period was very light and short however opk and bbt confirmed I was ovulating. Also if it helps the month I conceived I actually ovulated 5days later than usual. I was going to give up thinking I wouldn’t ovulate that cycle but luckily I kept using opks and we conceived purely due to that telling me when ovulation was, and bbt confirming when it occured.

@Blue2020 thank you for your reply! I used ovulation sticks but they never got dark and I'm making my husband DTD twice a day every day 🙈 I know I'm very obsessed over it, I think it's more the fact I'm worried it will never happen or there is something wrong. I do feel sorry for him he keeps saying it will happen when it happens and is trying to take my mind off it but its all I can think about 😭

I had a termination for medical reasons, same type as yours, and while my period came.back it was a couple months before I ovulated again. I also tend to get pregnant quickly, and I did, 3 months after termination. But it did take a little while. You'll ovulate when your body is ready for it, but it might need a breather. You'll get there, just in a little bit!

@EMcG3 thank you 🥰 I think that's what I needed to hear a positive story! I'm getting so upset with it, and I know it's only been three months but it feels like a lifetime when your thinking about it constantly x

It does feel like forever! I tried to separate it into two parts: an emotion problem (I am sad that I am not pregnant as I really want to be) and a fertility question (I am worried about my fertility). When I could think of them separately I could see that most of my negative emotions on a day to basis were the former not the latter and I found it helpful to keep my worries smaller/less catastrophic.

Wishing you baby dust!
