Hi,
I have a 4 year old daughter.
Before having her, my blood pressure was always normal. It was also normal all the way through my pregnancy up until 38 weeks. I developed preaclampsia and was induced straight away.
After giving birth my blood pressure lowered a bit but but has never gone back to normal.
Now, i would love to have a second baby but really worried.
I have discussed this with my GP and i have had tests done to see if there's a cause for my blood pressure.
My blood pressure has recently been in the 120'sover 80's but this is when i am at my most relaxed.
GP suggested me starting blood pressure tablets now but once i seen a different gp and they didn't want to suggest the tablets incase it made it too low.
I don't know what to do and not heard from gp for a while.
Just wondered if anyone else has had similar issue?

I had suspected post parting preeclampsia with my second, ended up in hospital a week after having my daughter with. Chest pain, low pulse and high blood pressure. It was never proven to be preeclampsia but my gp suspects. I've also had episodes of my blood pressure being higher than it should be since, I'm only 6 months post partum but no explanation why. I have been advised by my gp to not have any more children, but luckily we were already agreed to be done.

No advice really, just to say experiencing similar. Our hospital has a post birth service, it might be worth contacting them and seeing if you could discuss with the midiwives or obstetricians what the risks and management would be.
