Membrane sweep…?

Hi, I had a membrane sweep 24 hrs ago. I’ve cramped a lot the past 24hrs but not had a bloody show or anything. This morning the cramp is a little less but still there. Does this mean it hasn’t worked? Is there still time? Just curious about other peoples experiences.

I had mine and it started off like yours, I didn't have my show at all untill I was pushing! Just had cramping which lead to contractions, best of luck 🤞

Thank you for sharing!! That gives me a wee bit of hope!! How many days/ hours until you went in to labour? Was it really obvious when contractions start? I feel like I just have no idea!!!

Hi @Figgy90 i went into labour 4 days after a sweep - my first sign was my bloody show though then contractions that became more intense and close together. I did have a quick labour though and dilated very quickly. My advice would be to try and keep active - I really think that helped things progress!

I had several sweeps with both first and second and got nothing (except the show).

Everybody is so different, there's no guarantee.

Best of luck!

I had a sweep on a Tuesday and Thursday, bloody show in the early hours of Saturday morning and went into labour early hours of Monday.
Had some crampy period type pains on and off after my sweeps but nothing major or consistent - definitely felt different when contractions started!

Good luck!

@Nejnej2 aw that’s so exciting! What would you contractions felt like?
I’ve had my bloody show now and just feeling sore all over and quite nauseas

I got the stereotypical tightening - mainly across the front of my belly but going round the sides and down my legs. It was initially irregular but became regular and I couldn't talk through them (I was only certain it was labour at that point!)

I had a bath when they started, would highly recommend!

And I've just seen your other reply - I did a TON of walking the weekend before I went into labour and even did an aquanatal class Sunday evening!

Yep lots of walking and bouncing on the ball prior to bloody show - after bloody show I made sure I bounced on the ball and had a raspberry leaf tea 🤣
in my experience triage can see you once you’ve had your show and check your cervix - they did that to me and I was only 1cm but then returned a couple of hours later at 9cm 😆
