6 Weeks & Bleeding

Hi all, I found out I was pregnant about 2 weeks ago. My last period was early February so calendar suggesting I’m about 6 weeks. I started having nausea and strong sense of smell in my 2 week wait before testing positive. This then changed to swollen and painful boobs, slight food aversions. I’ve had strong lines for 2 weeks and clearblue measured at 2-3 weeks on digital test last week.

This evening before going to bed I had a slight watery pink colour on the tissue when wiped after the loo. I wiped again and it was the same. This was about 2 hours ago, there hasn’t been anymore since and it was a very light pink slight mucus. (sorry for tmi).

I am concerned that this may be the start of something bad and wondering if anyone can advise? I’ll be ringing the GP 8am but wanting to try and find some reassurance.

Sorry to hear you are concerned. I really can’t say if this means you will have a miscarriage, but just offering you a handhold as you are clearly awake worrying. Are you in any pain/cramping?

I suffered two miscarriages and one started with brown blood that turned red. The other was a lot of mucus and bright red blood in it. And a lot of cramping/back ache. These were a bit further along than you, between 11-12 weeks.

Not sure if it’s a comfort but I did go on to have two healthy full term pregnancies.

It is such a horrible waiting period, you will most likely be referred for an early scan which may take a few days. Or if you can afford it perhaps book one privately for a week’s time, as they may see more on the scan when you’re 7 weeks.

Crossing everything for you x

Thank you for replying, yes I’m wide awake as I have scared myself into the fear of either a miscarriage or eptopic.

I have an early scan booked for this Friday privately and I’ll call my GP when they open at 8am, I have everything crossed that all will be okay and it’s random spotting. Waiting 16 months for a positive, I just hope that it continues to be a happy and healthy pregnancy.

thank you for taking the time to reply. xx

Perfectly normal smudges of blood, watery looking blood, smears of blood etc especially in the first 3 months. Do not worry it is absolutely normal as your body changes inside, tightens areas up etc it leave little smudges etc. 4 children and trained health visitor been there so dont panic at all. What your describing is very very different to if it was a miscarriage happening.

Thank you so much for your reassurance x

@Rahf8 sorry to jump on but I am having exactly the same problem! Tested positive last Friday, my last period was first week of feb so calculates me at 6 weeks 2 days.
all been fine then last night I went to the toilet and had pinkish blood when wiping, it’s still there not getting any darker or no clots just like a very light period. I’ve also been having some lower back ache and mild cramps. Hoping to ring drs first thing 🤞🏻

Hello, so I popped to GP and she referred me to gynae and gave me a letter to go to A&E to be checked out. My bleeding has stopped but I got a pinching in my shoulder which concerned her mostly.

the nurse in A&E took obs read the notes from my GP and then advised me to come back this Friday for a scan.

little wary now about shoulder pain as the GP said sometimes there can be a problem with the Fallopian tube.

im not sure whether anyone can reassure me whether I’d be in a gone with the risk of a rupture or eptopic?

@Rahf8 I had this at the beginning of my pregnancy then had more red/pink bleeding a few times over a span of a few weeks. It was terrifying as I’d had a miscarriage in December and my mind immediately went to the worst case scenario. I ended up going to the early pregnancy unit and they did a scan and they couldn’t find a reason for the bleeding they said it could be anything from implantation to irritation of the cervix etc. and everything is fine up to now currently 10wks 5days.

I also had shoulder pain in the beginning and my mind went straight to ectopic pregnancy but it turns out I had just trapped a nerve in my shoulder.
It’s definitely something that you should get checked out though because they can scan you and do a thorough check of everything to make sure everything is okay and that everything is where it’s meant to be.

Try and get some rest and take it easy and I hope that everything works out for you. It can be so scary especially the not knowing.

Really hope everything works out for you at the scan. I am 18 weeks now and have had consistent bleeding throughout my pregnancy. Had some episodes of red and brown blood and had lots of scans and baby is absolutely fine. Hope that can be of some reassurance
