Bacterial Vaginosis - how are you tested for it?

Hi everyone,

Im 18 weeks on Saturday and last week had a midwife app where she checked urine. Said everything was fine apart from Ketones which meant I was probably severely dehydrated. Does anyone know if I may have been tested for BV? Or if that can be detected via urine?

Ive started wearing thongs again, today actually, and noticed when I went to the toilet there was a strong fishy smell, which I know is a symptom of BV! Freaking out as when you Google risks of BV it’s not good!

Any advice/help is welcome - thank you so much x

A swab, I think, isn't it?

Do you know if anything can be detected in urine at all? Which maybe prompts further testing?
