... during pregnancy, what is a healthy amount to gain and finally did you eat for two?

No one should eat for two, you only need around an extra 200 calories and only in the last bit which isn’t really a lot. Weight gain will vary person to person. Just make healthy choices and sensible portions. It’s best not to focus on weight as it will include things like placenta, baby, extra blood flow, waters, fat being stored for milk production all of which are different in each person.

My OB told me as a person of 5’2 63kg that I’m heavy and shouldn’t eat a lot 😅 but she did say, eat good meals, don’t carb load too much so two portions of good carbs and healthy snacks between meals. So the gist was come lunch or dinner, you’re not super hungry, up your intake of water too. Mine said aim for like 2l per day.

I think it was 3 and a half stone by the end but I lost it all really quickly. I think I lost at least 2 Stone of it without doing anything. I just had so much less time to eat and lost blood etc which seemed to take it down quite quickly! I’ve started at a lighter weight this time and was trying not to gain massive amounts but I was so sick at the start and the other thing that stopped it was eating a lot so I stuffed my face constantly and have put on a fair amount!

I am 34 weeks and have put on 3 stone so far. I expect at least another half stone over final weeks? It feels like an awful lot but the midwife hasn't expressed any concern. I was quite slim to start with which has probably contributed, my bump is also big (97th percentile). I haven't been gorging on food, just being sensible. I had a couple of months of little activity due to hip pain as well, I imagine I'd weigh less if I had been able to be more active... but who knows!
