Nub theory

Hi All,

I know a bit about the nub theory, but not much.

Looking for advice on my scan. I drew the lines and it came out girl. The nub being parallel to the spine. But then i think it looks boy when not analysing it fully.

Baby is vertical and curled up so maybe it would be inaccurate reading anyway? How much accuracy do you put in the nub theory?

The spine needs to be straight to tell really. I’ll guess boy

I’ll go pretty certain on a girl as it’s identical to my 12+5 scan with my girl 🥰

Any chance you could put your scan photo up that you said is identical? No worries if you would rather not. Just curious xx

@NeedhelpLol sorry lovely - no nub imaged on yours! I’d guess boy- from the skull (but this isn’t as effective!!!) so you have any other scan pics?

@NeedhelpLol mine was exactly the same! After being obsessed with the nub theory for years, my dating scan didn’t show one (well I don’t think!)😂 but I did send it to the “nub techs” and they reckon there was part of the nub in the leg? So they’ve guessed boy. I’m not sure how accurate it is!!! We’ll see in a few weeks at our scan lol! I’ll share mine so you can see xxx

Ahh thank you I have a feeling mines a boy it's so frustrating when you can't see what your expecting to see, I'd say from the skull theory yours looks like a girl though I don't know will just have to wait a bit longer I guess xxx look forward to hearing what your getting xxxx

I’ve had a gut feeling we were having a girl!! Until I sent my scan picture to the nub techs, and they said 85% boy😂 we’d be happy with either as it’s our little IVF miracle, but DH does already have a beautiful teenage son - so secretly I think he was hoping for 1 of each!! I’ll definitely come back and update. Will you be finding out? Xxx

I go between wanting a surprise and finding out but think I will as my daughter has 2 brothers and is desperate for a sister but whatever will be a blessing I think she might need to know earlier to prepare herself if its another boy, there all a blessing so pleased for you and your little miracle baby ours was unexpected and is a very welcome blessing whatever it is ultimately will be happy 😊 xxxx
