5th floor apartment with a baby - is this dangerous?

I have a 12 month old & having to move apartments. We viewed an apartment today which is 5th floor - no lift. The apartment is perfect, but the stairs scared me. I am an anxious person so i don't know if i am being overly fearful, but i hate that right outside the front door are stairs with opening in the middle (a normal stairwell if that makes sense). Not sure if i am being ridiculous or if this is a definite no - please give your opinion

It would be a no for me. Such a struggle with a little one. Imagine a stroppy or sleeping toddler you have to carry upstairs all that way. What about if you also have a bag of shopping with your food for dinner in there? Delivery drivers leaving packages at the main door, it’s a long way to dash down with a little one.

I would probably look at it and not like the look of it either - but then, right outside my front door (no front garden) is a city street, which has its own dangers! It would be completely rational to think about the inconvenience, though. Five floors is a very long way up with a small child and whatever other clobber has to come up as well.

No chance, buggy + baby + any shopping will be hellish.

Is there a lift aswell? If you are concerned about the safety of having a staircase just outside the door I think it’s not really a problem. If you are concerned about managing 5 flights of stairs with a baby then I agree that would be difficult and I wouldn’t do it!
