I am 9 weeks pregnant, had a scan at the EPU today due to some pain and mild spotting last week but all was confirmed as okay this morning. That's a bit of an aside really, it's just in case someone saw my other post. Yesterday I woke up feeling so rough - swollen tonsils, glands up on my neck, really achey. Took a covid test this morning before I dragged myself to the hospital and it was negative. Wore a mask throughout the appointment. I've now had a second day where I've been in bed, barely able to drink and I've not eaten anything either day. At the scan I was told my bladder was empty, even though I'd forced down approx half a litre of water, I'm guessing this is because I was so dehydrated. My husband is panicking because of the pregnancy - it's been about 3 years of TTC. I'm barley weeing and when I do it's obviously dark. I just want to go back to sleep, keep trying to force water but can only do small sips and it's totalling barely anything. My thoughts are to see how I am tomorrow but wondered if anyone had any advice. Sorry for rather stunned post, I feel so rough it's hard to think straight.

Hopefully you get through it! 9 weeks is a really hard stage, I also had flu at 9 weeks and was so worried and went to EPU and got checked as I was worried about the strength of my cervix and all the coughing... anyway!

If you're worried about being dehydrated I would say speak to your midwife as I also struggled with hydration at 9 weeks but didn't do anything about it. My midwife said next time let her know or contact EPU so I can be hooked up with fluids... starting to go off water again now but I have found I drink lots at night which isn't ideal for a full nights sleep but you can try that too after brushing your teeth I find it extra refreshing.
