Hello ladies, im new here and i just wanted to ask for your opinion. I am 22 weeks pregnant with twins and i am constantly being told "your bumps not very big" all scans have been perfect little boy and girl are growing perfectly but comments like that don't half dampen my pirade ! Has anyone else experienced this?

Bump sizes are different for everyone depending on loads of factors, I don't think it means anything.
For whatever it's worth I'm 26.5 weeks with twins and about 3-4 weeks I absolutely ballooned having had a bump that looked nothing "like a twin bump" previously.

Me! 34 weeks and people do query if lm joking about having twins. They are growing well though and a bit ahead of where they should be

CONGRATULATIONS! How is your pregnancy progressing? I’m currently 22 weeks + 4 days pregnant with boy/girl twins. I also have had many people comment on my bump being small but they’re measuring perfectly fine. Im also quite tall (5ft 10) so this is a contributing factor. Did you have a lot of movement around 22 weeks?

DHsPoorBack · 18/04/2023 19:31

My bump was tiny. In fact the other twin mums I know we're jealous of my neat little bump. It was smaller than singleton DS.

However. One was 5lb 1 and one was 5lb 11, and that was at 36 weeks! They are just turned 3, and fit 4-5 clothes. So don't worry one bit about the size of your bump.

I did also get water retention and in the last ten days, my thighs rivalled Jeff Capes. So swings and roundabouts Grin

And congratulations, twins are fantastic xx

@teelops94 congratulations!
I am now 27 weeks + 4, time is going very very fast! Everything is going well so far though, apart from puffy feet and general tiredness but i can't complain really. I really started feeling movements around the 22 week mark and as time went on they now have a pattern very active during the day and quiet at night. Twin a (girl) is definitely bullying twin b (boy) already as on every scan i have had she is using him as a football 🤣 how are you finding your pregnancy?

@DHsPoorBack can i ask if you went into labour naturally at 36 weeks? Or was you induced? As i have read online that they book you in for either an induction or csection in advance when expecting multiples?

Wishing you all the best in the remainder of your pregnancy! I’m finding it very well honestly, the only thing is I’ve been getting hot very easily and breaking out in rashes especially between my legs. Besides that, I have no complaints. My baby boy is measuring just a bit bigger than the girl but I guess that’s expected

TwinMumma2be · 18/04/2023 20:57

@teelops94 thank you, you too! I think it is, our boy is measuring a little bigger than the girl at the moment. Are you having regular scans? We have appointments every 3 weeks at the moment. Which is nice and reassuring to keep a close eye on them both

@TwinMumma2be ahh ok that’s good to hear then :) so the time between my previous appointment and next appointment is 6 weeks because of the bank holidays which is a bit too long for me so I’ve got a private scan booked in between. But from my next NHS scan, my appointments are every 3/4 weeks

I chose a C-section, purely because I elected one for singleton DS and found it pretty stress free. They do like you have have them a little earlier to reduce complications in later stages, but many people carry them to full term and have successful natural births.

Im 19 weeks, only pregnant with one but this is happening to me all the time and it’s really getting me down. Back at work yesterday and everyone coming up saying ‘I wouldn’t know you were pregnant’, even another pregnant colleague who’s similar time to me and tbh her bump didn’t look much different! She was wearing skin tight clothes I was wearing baggy. Yesterday I went to midwife unit as was getting so worried about constant BH and even the dr said the same thing, I lay down and lifted my top and she said oh your uterus is so tiny. It’s driving me mad and really not helping with my already heightened anxiety :(

I assume our bumps will get there eventually but just sharing that I understand the way you are feeling
