Is it normal to have fluttery tummy feeling in early pregnancy?
I am five weeks (have not had my GP appt yet so have lots of questions!!!)

It is kind of like nervous energy, bit of gurgling - not painful at all....

Just wondered if this was normal? I feel like I am getting paranoid about every little twinge and tweak....

Hi there, I'm 5 weeks too - have you joined the Oct 2008 thread?? There's lots of us out there with more symptoms than you can shake a stick at!
Fluttery tummy prob nothing specific to do with the baby - have you started going off any foods or changed your diet now your PG??
It could just be excitement!

Is it a bit like tiny bubbles of gas? If so, it may be the start of feeling the baby move, though I can't remember how early you would feel that. I had it for a while, and that's certainly what it turned into.

Sounds quite normal. Relax, look after yourself, and try not to go gaga. Your body's going to do lots of weird & wonderful things, so just go with it. I think (not an expert) that potential bad signs are bleeding and pain. If you have any worries I'm sure your GP would be more than happy to see you. Same goes for when you're transferred to the midwives for ante-natal care.
Paranoia/anxiety completely normal, especially with your first, which I presume this is.
Congratulations and very best of luck x

Actually it's completely normal to feel like that - your bowel is distended during the first eight weeks of pregnancy and that can cause excess gas. Don't worry, it doesn't mean you have having triplets (multiples are normally felt moving earlier).

Thanks for the reassurance ladies, this is hard work (emotionally) for a first timer!!!!
Will be sure to join the Oct 08 thread....so exciting but scary at the same time!!!

Yeah expect all sorts of funny feelings in early pregnancy!
Grumblings and rumblings are all normal. Just think of everything that going on in there.

Its far to early to feel baby moving. At 5 weeks baby is tinsy tiny.

Im a first timer and now 18 weeks and due in July.
Only this week have i started to feel baby move but other first timers dont feel anything till into 20 weeks or so.
