I just found out i'm pregnant. I've worked out using the NHS calculator that i'm 4 weeks.

I'm super excited, but i have no clue what to do next as we weren't trying. I'm booking a GP appointment tomorrow, but i'm so scared something will go wrong. This is my first pregnancy.

I'm also getting married in 7 weeks!

Any advice on what to do, what to expect etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you x

Congratulations!!! Most gp surgeries do self referrals now but you need to contact your gp if not to get your appointments sorted for scans etc. if not, start vitamin d and folic acid. I was also 11 weeks pregnant on my wedding day and it was lovely we had a lockdown wedding with 25 guests and we told our guests of our new addition after the I do’s. Be a lovely thing to share with your mum on the morning of your wedding if you haven’t already told her.

Congratulations! You should be able to just self refer to your local hospital. If you go on their website you should be able to find it (e.g. just google 'booking birth X hospital'). As the above poster said, key thing is to start taking vitamins now. I personally prefer to just take one complete pregnancy vitamin but some women prefer just to take a folic acid and a vitamin D separately. You will usually have your first midwife appointment at around 8 - 10 weeks, and then your first scan at 12 weeks. I'm sure that'll help it to all sink in and feel more real!
