I am around 6 weeks pregnant and have had some on/off bleeding for the last few days. I’ve had a scan today and seen heartbeat but told I have a subchorionic hematoma. I wasn’t given any advice but from looking online it seems rest should help.

Does anyone have any experience with this they can please share? I have quite an active job and also a toddler so rest isn’t really an option unless I took time off work! I’m stressing big time!

Are you on fb? Have a search for subchorionic hematoma groups on there, they have some great advice and I wish I'd have known about it when I had mine. Did they say how big it was and where it was situated? I unfortunately mc at 8 weeks but on that group there were women who had huge bleeds and clots and ended up giving birth at full term to healthy babies. There's positive stories and there's not so positive ones but everyone's situations are different xx

Hi OP, I had this with my DS when I went for reassurance scan at 8 weeks. The sonographer said it's actually quite common and for some women it just gets reabsorbed with no bleeding, which is what happened to me and I had a healthy, full term pregnancy. A friend of mine recently did have quite heavy bleeding because of this at around 13 weeks, and she was worried about MC but her DD born healthy at term in Jan. Every situation is different but hopefully gives a little bit of reassurance. Wishing you a healthy and safe pregnancy x
