Seeing occasional flashing lights in my peripheral vision

32 weeks pregnant with DC1. I have GD but no high blood pressure. Also carpal tunnel but not sure if that's related to anything.

This started a few weeks ago but I didn't pay attention to it as it happened at night/when I was rolling over in bed and half asleep.

At my last midwife appointment I was asked if I saw lights etc and I said no because I'd genuinely forgotten about those occurances.

Since then I have started seeing little bubbles pop in my peripheral vision during the day and made the connection.

I was supposed to have a MW appointment today and mention it but it was cancelled and the next one is in early April.

Google is making this sound like preeclampsia and telling me to go to a&e ASAP but I also had migraine with aura pre pregnancy so it could be that?

Has anyone experienced the same and called the maternity unit and what happened afterwards? Did you get kept in for ages? Were you monitored? Was everything ok?

I know I know that I will need to call in and get triaged and no one can help me online etc but I'm interested in other people's experiences so that I don't go in blind.

Yes call the hospital and go in today. It can be linked to pre-eclampsia. I don’t fully know what they will do, likely check your bp and maybe want to monitor you but that’s a guess really. Other signs to look out for are swelling of hands/face/feet, high bp (chances are you wouldn’t know if it’s high), headaches and visual issues.

last week I was in the hospital due to reduced movements at 31weeks, they then picked up on my high bp and kept me in another day to monitor it. I didn’t have any other typical indicators though, so instead they have let me go and said I need to have my bp checked weekly by the midwife. Plus any signs of the above to call them straight away and go in.
