Miscarriage and Vitamin D

After having two miscarriages within 6 months, both around 7 weeks, I requested general blood tests from my GP which came back showing low Vitamin D. I have since read that there is a significant link between vitamin D and miscarriage, does anyone else have experience of this? I already had a DD age 2 which was a totally problem free pregnancy. We are TTC again and I've been taking Vitamin D supplements for the past two months so I'm just wondering if anything will be different this time.

@9Gizmo yes Vit D is extremely important. When going through the process heading towards IVF, our consultant only wanted me to take Vit D and Folic acid showing how important it is. It's really something everyone in the UK should take, most are deficient (we have a friend who is a scientist whose recent projects have been all about Vit d). I don't think you can be totally sure your MC's are because of this but I'd certainly take it and hope for a different outcome when you get pregnant again. Best of luck!

Yes i was vit d deficient and the doctor wanted to make sure my levels were normal pre conception He also said sometjing about vitamin e not being absorbed well at all if vit d is low. Good this is easy to rectify by making sure youre supplementing. Good luck
