Short cervix got longer within a week!?

Hi,
Im under the pre term labour clinic as had a large lletz in 2015. My first scan 2 weeks ago my cervix was measuring 25mm so on the borderline of being short enough to require treatment. I went back a week later and it measured 35mm. Wondering if anyone else has had this experience?
im going back for a week follow up soon but confused as didn’t think it could get longer! (Unless first scan was inaccurate!)

I’m having fortnightly cervical scans. Between 16 and 18 weeks it reduced from 4.2 to 3.1 I was panicked because I was convinced that it would plummet another 1.1cm by 20 weeks, but it actually increased to 3.5 and I saw that the longest measurement taken was 4. It seems that they can expand and contract, which is exactly what my consultant said at 18 weeks when I was stressing.

During pregnancy it’s normal for your cervix to lengthen and fluctuate throughout pregnancy. I had a Lletz treatment in 2013 and had monitoring throughout my last pregnancy in 2020. It does change each time they scan you. I didn’t need treatment during the pregnancy luckily

Thankyou that’s reassuring to know

Thankyou, I just assumed it could only get shorter. I have another scan Tuesday so fingers crossed it hasn’t gone below the 25. All so nerve wracking !
