You only get 2 - the ones you said 😊 you can of course pay privately for another if you wanted too. And you’ll still get midwife Apts xx

Hi. Only in certain circumstances you would be entitled to more scans but if that was the case, you would have been informed.
Unless you're under consultant care or there have been any issues (historical or not), you'd only get 12w and 20w scans.

There should be a schedule of appointments and scans in your notes somewhere. That will tell you if there is/isn't any more to come.

However, if you haven't been booked in for another, and your midwife hasn't mentioned it, I'm afraid that's it for standard care in most trusts. Some trusts do offer a 36 week scan as standard, but you would have had it booked at the 20 week scan.

You may get another if there are any concerns about growth. Otherwise you could always pay for a private scan.

In my hospital you have three scans as standard. 12 ish weeks , 21/22 weeks and then 35/37 weeks. Currently pregnant with Baby no.3 and it's been the same for all 3.

is that in the UK?

I am in the UK @justoneobviously , and I had 3 scans as standard with both my children.

The 12 week dating, 20 week anatomy, and 36 week positioning scan. It's not many trusts that do it at the moment, but I hope one day it will be standard for all.

BabyB2022 · 11/03/2023 06:55

In my trust just the two scans are standard but I got sent for scans at 28, 34 and 38 due to measuring small, but these were arranged at my midwife appointment.

Between me having my first (2020) and now pregnant with my second my NHS trust has introduced a third scan at 36 weeks.
