Bleeding but faint positive

Hi I was just hoping someone might maybe have some advice or similar experience?

Ive been TTC in a very relaxed way and I tested negative the day before my period, had a normal period lasting about 3 days and then last night ( a week after period ended) I felt weird and had a small bit of spotting so I tested and got a faint positive.

Tested again this morning and still a faint positive but the bleeding has got heavier almost like a period again.

I've had a chemical pregnancy a few months ago and Im feeling like this is the same again but I don't understand how I could have even been pregnant after my period when I was definitely negative? Has anyone experienced similar?

I've never in my life bled between periods so I'm very confused. I've also got two children and never experienced implanting bleeding with those pregnancies but surely its more just spotting?

I'm waiting to see if tests get darker or fade away before I go to a doctor.

Hi,

in going through the exact same thing & was just wondering what the outcome was please?

I’ve got an appointment on Friday at EPU as I’ve had 2 previous ectopics 😔

MummyInBucks · 16/04/2023 20:44

After we stopped using contraception, I had a normal-for-me period, then when my next period was late (January) I had a positive pregnancy text. I assumed that I'd conceived after my December period, because that was my usual 5-6 days of bleeding, but my dating scan put it as being day before start of last period!

confused6789 · 16/04/2023 21:34

Hi it ended up being a chemical pregnancy I think. Pregnancy tests came back negative after a few days and had a normal cycle after that.
I have heard of people bleeding at the start of normal healthy pregnancies too though so fingers crossed for you x

Thanks for replying confused & mummyinbucks,

I tested again this morning, can’t decide if it’s darker, lighter or still the same 🙄🙈🫤

Roll on Friday I guess

carsty · 14/05/2023 06:18

hi @Skizii, how are you and how did it go?

Skizii · 14/05/2023 13:37

Hi @carsty ,

it wasn’t good news for me then unfortunately… it was ectopic in the right tube - same as in November last year.

I ended up having emergency surgery on 25th April to remove the tube & of
course I was absolutely devastated but I am feeling much better & a lot more hopeful now.

I’m assuming you’re going though something similar, hope you’re doing ok. I’m here if you want to talk xx

carsty · 14/05/2023 17:23

@Skizii im sorry to hear it was not a positve outcome and glad you are in a better place now...thanks for sharing and i hope you get a positve outcome soon. as for me i have never been pregnant and still trying to conceive...i started checks last year in case there are any fertility issues especially since i get left sided pains, aches and even down my leg during and after af so i suspected pcos or somtehing else but yet no diagnosis. Still hoping might be my year this year and same for you🤗🤗🤗

Skizii · 14/05/2023 20:49

Wishing us both lots of baby dust @carsty, stay positive & hopeful. I’m sure it’ll happen for us both soon xx

FYI some things I’ve found useful / helpful during my fertility journey;

  1. Diet - fruit, veg, lean protein, non processed / refined carbs, no processed food, cut back on refined / added sugar too - I read an article on non-inflammatory diets helping fertility issues it might be worth a read to you too (I’ll see if I can find it)
  1. COQ10 - not sure how old you are, would probably recommend if over 33
  1. DHA
  1. Vitamin D
  1. Vitamin B6 & B12 - helps to balance hormones apparently

NOTE: I’m not a doctor, these are just some things that helped me first time round to conceive my son after my first ectopic & I’m implementing / using again now xx

Skizii · 14/05/2023 21:04

I did have decaf coffee though

(sorry for all the edits, I am tired 😴😂)

carsty · 16/05/2023 20:04

@Skizii thanks for the tips, im also trying pregnacare conceive though i dnt take it regularly..last month i notice i had a lot of ewcm and this was great timing since my husband was away🙄...ive never felt so fertile but i think cause i was having a lot of smoothies, eating healthier and going ro the gym had helped but i have stopped going to the gym now and not been having much smoothies...this cycle i noticed i had only one day of ewcm i think this was cycle day 12

carsty · 16/05/2023 20:09

since my husband came back though we have been dtd a lot surprisingly i guess abscence does make the heart grow fonder 😅...may the Lord bless us all who are looking for the fruit of the womb be our portion this year🤗🤗🤗🤗

carsty · 17/05/2023 07:42

Thanks @Skizii , that was a lovely prayer and interesting blog. How far are you in your journey?

Skizii · 17/05/2023 15:31

It is isn’t it 😊 @carsty .

This will be our third attempt at TTC since September last year having had two ectopics on my right side since then.

So this time round I think I’m 8dpo but not sure because I haven’t had a period since my op.

I’ve been testing but it’s hard to know what I’m even seeing (super faint positives) & also if it is just from residual hcg from the ectopic pregnancy 🙄.

So I’m in a wait & see situation right now, hopefully we’ll get a nice dark line in the next couple of days which will be a definite bfp 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽.

What about you?

carsty · 17/05/2023 21:06

@Skizii Its nearly 2 years not trying to prevent getting pregnant though not necessarily actively trying but I would of thought something would have happened by now and since i have been having some symptoms like pcos i started to do checks in case there are any fertility issues but the doctors seem to be reluctant to do anything...i have tried opks but never got the hang of it, never had a bfp and my husband would feel like hes being forced to do anything so i cant even try and get him on board...I think i may have ovulated on cycle day 12 due to having had ewcm so i might be 5dpo today...

Skizii · 17/05/2023 22:51

Do you know about checking your cervix for fertility @carsty ? That’s what I was doing when I conceived my son & it’s what I’m using now.

I’m still breastfeeding so my cm is all over the place & I hardly ever get ewcm so it’s been really useful to track my ovulation that way.

I do try to leave it in Gods hands with regards to dtd because when we first started TTC it was so stressful trying to make sure we had sex on certain days especially when hubby was tired / stressed etc. about work.

Now if I think I’m fertile I’ll suggest baby dancing & leave it to him. Otherwise we do it when the mood takes us & I hope for the best 🙏🏽😹.

I pray @carsty that it is Gods will & plan for this month to be our month each to conceive healthy babies, may He open our wombs & further bless our lives. I thank him for the fruitfulness & abundance we already have & offer my limitless gratitude for it all, for being able to know Him & for being known by Him. Glory to God the almighty, in Jesus name, Amen 🙏🏽.

carsty · 18/05/2023 12:39

@Skizii Amen in Jesus name, same here been taking a laxed approach and leaving it in Gods hands. I do believe he will bless us soon and keeping the faith thank you your comment made my day. I will continue to pray and keep you in ny prayers. To be fair, this month we actually dtd a lot during the window more than before but ill leave it in the Lords hands. I hope your having a good day so far🤗🤗🤗

Skizii · 18/05/2023 14:42

You’re very welcome & thank you also @carsty . We’re now fertility prayer sisters 🙏🏽😊.

Yes my day is going well but I think I need to stop poas as it’s starting to consume my thoughts 🙈.

I started testing last week to check
my hcg had gone down after the surgery & now I’m testing to see if they have gone back up after my presumed ovulation but really & truly 9dpo is probs too early to test & I’m still not even sure my hcg has gone down completely anyway & all of this just putting myself through unnecessary stress, it’s just sooo hard waiting isn’t it.

I’m trying to focus on all that I have & truly leave it to God but I’m not sure I’m doing a very good job of that today 🙈😣.

How are you doing today? Will you try & hold out until your missed period before poas?

carsty · 18/05/2023 17:07

@Skizii I may be 5/6 dpo today and I try to distract myself to keep from poasing...however, i started to have cramping and some sensations in my breasts today which is typical pms for me...i also felt odd almost light headed yesterday but may have been due to dehydration lol...I will try and wait until i have a missed period, but thats a big TRY🤣!

Skizii · 18/05/2023 21:01

I had the exact same thing @carsty

Days 4 & 5 dpo I had cramps at night, then days 6 & 7 I had such sore nipples!! I never get symptoms like this so of course my mind has gone into overdrive 🙄.

Now I have nothing at all so really don’t know what to make of it all. Actually in peeing loads but I do drink loads of water 🙄.

It also doesn’t help having the residual hcg in my system because it’s showing as super super super faints & generally making me feel like I’m going mad 😹🙈.

I just want to poas & have it come up straight away like bam bfp - no squinting required 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽.

Day 15 is Tuesday - I already know I won’t be able to hold out that long 🙈 especially as I bought 50 cheapie tests on Amazon so have been going through them like there’s no tomorrow 😹😹😹🙈

carsty · 19/05/2023 07:43

@Skizii aww bless you maybe the cramps having stopped is a good sign...are you testing over the weekend? Im cramping again today so it feels like af may come in a week's time im also bloated...i also have ibs which makes things more tricky but still hoping🤗

Skizii · 19/05/2023 10:38

I tested this morning 🙄🙈 still a super super faint positive, basically a shadow of a line so must be residual still.

I going to stop now until Tuesday as it’s defo starting to wear on me. I’ll stay hopefully optimistic but will try to push it to the back of my mind until then.

We’ve got a little gathering for my little boy’s birthday tomorrow so I really want to be present in the moment for that. Honestly I feel sooo ungrateful sometimes because I’m sooo incredibly blessed to have him & it’s not that he’s not enough because he is amazing, I’d just really love him to have a sibling (a sister specifically 😹).

I don’t know, it’s just a lot sometimes isn’t. I’m going to do lots of talking to God today & will pray for perspective & for Him to help me focus my eyes, heart & mind on Him because I know He’ll get me through 🙏🏽.

How lucky are we to have such an option to be able to call upon, for love, strength & everything else.

It’s crazy because logically I know it’s all Gods plan & I want to be fine with that - in many areas of my life I am completely trusting & accepting of that but this is definitely something I am struggling to completely surrender to His will, no matter how many times I commit myself to doing so.

Anyway so sorry for going on & on 🙈😂. I’d like to give thanks to God for bringing you into my life too x

Will you test this weekend? What day dpo will you be on Tuesday? What day should your af be due if it is making an appearance this month (obvs we are praying that it’s taking a nice long holiday!! 🙏🏽😂)

carsty · 19/05/2023 13:23

@Skizii God bless you, I can understand where your coming from and the Lord knows we are human and all he knows all our weaknesses. Its good when you can acknowledge your area of difficulties know take it to the Lord in prayer as he will surely help you...I too am sometimes ungrateful though im in my 30s and childless I still have many reasons to be thankful for and have to remind myself of this regularly and ask for forgiveness.. I try to capture the negative thinking and rebuke them as well as change them to positive thoughts as much as i can...my af is due the 28th and i may be 9/10 dpo on Tuesday. I will try and wait til time of af before testing.

carsty · 19/05/2023 13:26

@Skizii I am so happy to have met you too and a fellow believer as these days its hard to even speak about your faith and how it applies to all aspects of your life...If its Gods will we will have our bfp in due course💪🙏
