I've been feeling so rough since yesterday. Whole body aching, terrible headache, runny nose, hard to breath. I'm trying to battle through as I've dealt with colds before but I've had some really sharp tummy pains and I have had these through out pregnancy and so far it's seemingly been OK, it could be wind, it could just be my body tired and achy from flu. But I've read you should call your doctor so I've left a message with the surgery and waiting for them to call me back. Is there much they can really do? Has anyone else had flu in 1st trimester and been OK? I'm supposed to have my first proper scan on Monday.
Appreciate any thoughts x

I have had the flu in the first trimester in both pregnancies and COVID in one. I felt so exhausted and shattered and it was awful but once I was better it was all okay. The flu and COVID are more of a problem in the third trimester (in terms of giving birth early). Ofcourse it still feels horrible, especially when you already feel like you've climbed a mountain! Hope you feel better soon x

Hey OP,
Hope you feel better soon.
I had flu once around 4-6 weeks and then again at 14 weeks.
Second time I was so poorly I was hospitalised and put on a drip.
I’m currently 24 weeks and so far so good!

Thank you. Did anyone take any paracetamol during this time. I don't know if I dare take any med.

@llyh I got told by the doctor I was stupid to not take paracetamol as it brings your temperature down and having a high temperature puts the baby at way more risk than paracetamol so I took it straight after being seen and until I stopped having a temp.
