Pregnancy tests not getting darker

Hi all,

I got a positive pregnancy test on sunday and I've been taking a test everyday ( I know I shouldn't) to try and convince myself that my hcg is rising but they don't look like they are getting darker 😢 The last 3 days are exactly the same. Could this be a chemical or an eptopic?

how many dpo are you? sometimes on the little strip tests, they only go so dark and then stop...

I honestly don't know when I ovulated, I stopped tracking it as I started to get super obsessive. My last period started on the 1st of Feb and got my first positive test on sunday 😓. I wish i'd continued tracking my ovulation as now i'm going out of my mind with worry x

Could you maybe get a digital weeks indicator test to see if that matches up with how far along you should be? I know some people don’t like them but I know if I was in your shoes I’d be stressing too! Have you took a pic of the test fresh too, I did that and then compared them by photos because it was easier to see progression than a dried test from the day before! Xx

I was worried mine weren’t progressing. Remember these tests darken as they dry making it hard to see the difference. Also hcg only doubles every 48 hours so try looking at every other and you can see a difference.

if you use the premom app I used the ovulation bit to record the tests as it gives a number so made it easier to see it going up

They look like they are getting darker to me 🙂 here are my tests, from 9dpo. Cheapies aren't very good at telling progress early on. I'm now 7 weeks and getting dye stealers. Stay calm and try to test every 48hrs if you can, as it's easier to see progress then. Congrats on your pregnancy!

The bottom is what mine look like, same brand. Period was due a couple of days ago.

I've done a clear blue digital which says 1-2 weeks and will do another this time next week. Hoping there's some progression.

Tryrainbow91 · 05/03/2023 14:42

Thank you everyone for your messages, my tests don't seem to be progressing much and my clear blue digital still says 1-2 weeks. The same as last sunday. So now I am preparing for the worst but praying for some kind of miracle 😢😢😢

I'm not sure how accurate these things are tbh. And I don't think these forums are helpful sometimes either. It didn't even cross my mind to keep testing after a positive with my first.

I think you should try and stay positive. It's early days yet.

I know you will get a lot of replies saying it doesn't mean anything etc, but in my experience (3 MC, 1 full term, currently at 5+2 with another pregnancy which obviously could still be MC), in all my MC my tests never progressed and eventually got lighter. In the pregnancy that ended in my DS they all progressed and got darker (they have done that in this pregnancy so far too but obviously could still go wrong). For me this was better as meant when I started bleeding I was prepared. I found FRER the best at testing progression.

ChloeN · 05/03/2023 17:56

@Tryrainbow91 sorry lovely😢 it must be really hard not to see any progression, hoping for a miracle for you too but also sending lots of love if it doesn’t go how you’ve hoped xx

Angelselevenx · 04/04/2023 16:56

How did you get on? @Tryrainbow91 x

Carminai · 25/06/2023 06:46

I am in the same boat, how did you get on @Tryrainbow91 and @SillyOldBear3 ?
Thanks
