False positives?

Hi!

im driving myself crazy 🙈 I’ve done 4 clearblue pregnancy tests in the past week which show faint lines like pictured. But when doing a digital it says not pregnant. Why am I getting these faint lines? I’m reading it’s common to get false positives with clearblue. Having gone through a miscarriage a few months ago it’s really upsetting. Anyone been through something similar? I’m due on my period tomorrow

Clear blue are bad for evaps and digitals aren’t sensitive enough for before missed period. Get a first response early response as they’re most sensitive and give clear lines

Are these appearing after the time? I had a batch of clear blues do this after the time limit. My actual positives on them had much thicker lines that appeared much sooner.

So bad they shouldn’t sell them as being able to say 6 days before missed period! Thanks I will try :)

I’ve not done one yet 🙈 I’ve not come on my period yet (due today) but going to wait a few more days and then will buy a test. As I’ve spent a small fortune on them already 🤣 xx

I have had over 10 positive tests including a digital from clear blue which said 1-2 weeks, my period is a week overdue which it never is, I took another digital last night and it came back not pregnant. I then went to the hospital who took a urine and blood test and both came back not pregnant. I am absolutely confused as I’ve had multiple pregnancy symptoms, over 10 positive tests, and now this? I’m just so confused

@Cara2410 pregnancy tests won’t show a positive without hcg present. Do you were pregnant, but blood tests are more sensitive then urine tests so if that’s showing negative at some point you must have lost the pregnancy and hcg levels have gone back down. Have you spoken to early pregnancy unit?

@Twoinapod no they wouldn’t even refer me as they said I’ve shown no signs of pregnancy and that all my tests have even false negatives. They said my HCG levels are normal, I’ve had no bleeding at all, cramps in my lower stomach. Both their blood tests and urine tests came back negative, they felt my left hand side as I had cramping there and they said I felt tender but wouldn’t send me for an internal scan or anything. I’m never late on my period the whole 8 years I’ve had them, never had period cramps etc. I’ve had sickness, loss of appetite, sore boobs, all day sickness, extreme tiredness, hot sweats etc. it’s like they just didn’t even care as the tests their side came back negative. My head is honestly so confused and so baffled it’s unreal right now. I’ve still got cramps today.

@Twoinapod also all them tests above were from Wednesday this week. And I got two faint positives on Friday as well. And then two negatives Saturday and then A&e negatives. I went as thought I was having a missed miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.

@Twoinapod I had the doctor feel my stomach and he said I felt tender on my left hand side, they didn’t feel the need to send me for any internal scans nothing.

@Cara2410 im sorry they said that, you definitely had positives there. Can you phone your gp this week and explain to them. I’d imagine you will start bleeding in a few days though as it does sound like you have lost it. False positives are incredibly rare and you would never have had that many.

@Twoinapod I will do thank you, they said my tests are false positives and was never pregnant in the first place. Just so confused and disappointed to be honest and absolutely broken. And just really don’t understand either. I’m going to call the doctors on Tuesday after the bank holiday and get an appointment booked in, I think I have had a missed miscarriage but haven’t bled yet but they didn’t even want to even discuss it or even look further as just claimed they were all false positives. Just confused really. The ones above were from Wednesday, I then had two positives Friday as well and then two negatives yesterday and then the cramping which promoted me to go to the A&E incase it was an ectopic. Hoping I get some awnsers just extremely gutted.

@Cara2410 they sound like they were just trying to palm you off. You were definitely pregnant. I think if it was ectopic you’d still have positives so it is more likely you’ve had a chemical pregnancy.

@Twoinapod thats what I’m thinking, but it’s like they weren’t even interested in the slightest just honestly heartbroken and gutted.

So sorry to hear this, you definitely have positives there! As mine were unfortunately false positives, I had negative digital tests, so for you to have positive on both and that many it can’t be false! Maybe it could be an early silent miscarriage, I suffered one of these at 9 weeks where my baby had stopped growing but unfortunately didn’t show any symptoms of it until 11.5 weeks ☹️ it’s strange that you wouldn’t be showing any hcg levels at all so soon. I hope your doctors can give you some clarification on what’s going on xxx

@Mummy2020boy So sorry to hear about the false positives! I have started to bleed very heavily so think I’ve had a silent miscarriage and only going through my body now absolutely heartbroken 💔 I’ve got a call with the doctors today to hopefully try and get some more answers! Xx
