I'm so embarrassed.

I'm 27 weeks pregnant and have had diarrhoea for the past 6 days. I've been constipated throughout pregnancy.

I don't think I have a bug, I don't feel unwell, no temperature etc. I've had D&V bugs before and it doesn't feel like that.

Today, I didn't make it to the toilet and that's the first time ever in my life. It also has a bit of mucus in it.

Would you speak to midwife about this? I haven't got an appointment until my 28 week one next Wednesday.

No change in babies movements or anything like that so I'm not so concerned about her. More about myself 🤦🏻‍♀️ sorry for the TMI.

Have you recently started taking iron tablets? They can upset your stomach.

In the absence of any other symptoms such as cramping, spotting etc. I wouldn’t worry. If it continues, it’s more of a GP issue than a midwife one. But if you have abdominal pain, telephone the hospital.

I would speak to your GP rather than midwife. I think these things can happen in pregnancy but generally you should go to a GP if there is a change in bowel habits (and I think 6 days, with no other symptoms, plus mucus would warrant this).
