Its my rib just on the right hand side, seems ok when im standing but hurts like mad when i sit down for more than a few mins. I know my baby is breech - could it be my babys head pushing against my rib ? I'm 26+5 weeks.
And just this week my legs ache, my hips and i guess its siatica too my lower back?
Its all making me feel really crabby and irritable and im just feeling shit generally.
My dp is no help, he doesnt offer to do anything for me when hes home and tonight he even said he was fed up of hearing me say i was in pain and why i am so miserable all the time

Sounds like me on and off at the moment with the achy legs, hips and back. Your DP may be frustrated he can't help you, or he may just be an insensitive bugger. Perhaps asking for a sympathy cuddle will help.
I have been clingy and meepy lately too, I am 33 weeks pg now.
Maybe you can explain this to me babylove, whats 26+5 mean please? Lots of mums on here use this sort of thing. Is it 26 weeks plus something? Please enlighten me so I don't feel so much of a dork.

For my hip pain I try leaning on things and using a bean bag to watch tv, or going on all fours up the stairs.
Perhaps your DP can give you a back rub.

Other than that tbh you have my sympathy. It really sucks to be miserable and in pain.
Hope it passes soon for you.

Aww chick. You're not the only one.

My left ribs ache like they're broken and my belly is all stabby and sore. Am a bit fed up too. It won't go on for ever though, and it will be worth it.

I'm so irritable that dp can't even take me seriously and bust out laughing when I got cross about sorting the bedding earlier . I got all tearful and now we're going out for a pub lunch to cheer me up. If your dp doesn't fancy helping at home, why not stuff the housework and go out together?

PFJ - do your PF exercises!

This thread has worked.

I did about 4 good lots of exercises yesterday and I've done lots today too.

Squeeeeeeeze.

Thanks everyone, i know it doesnt exactly remove the pain but just to know i'm not old and falling to bits and that others are feeling the same is sort of comforting in a sadistic kind of way!

I have only attended one aquanatal class but we did some walking crab style ( crossing one leg over the other infront) and was told this was aimed at helping strengthen pelvic floor.

When squeezing pelvic floor muscles is it how many you do or howlong you ' hold' for that matters ??

Thanks again everyone.

babylove, ds1 was breech and moved two of my ribs out of position and they never returned back to where they were so I feel your pain! One thing that did help was something my dsis showed me. She made me sit on the couch and placed a cushion very low down at the small of my back. Then I had to lean back over it and it pulled my ribcage up and out and gave me some relief. Don't know if I've explained that very well!
The PfJ, 26 + 5 means 26 weeks and 5 days pregnant.

babylove21 · 11/02/2008 05:50

Thanks for that Chip monkey, is it safe to lean back, for the baby i mean ?
Jammi i must have heard you type that because little over a few hours ago i was looking at those wedgy support memory foam thingys - and im getting one lol.

Well, I did lean back and ds1 was fine! I think any position is fine except flat on your back!

babylove21 · 11/02/2008 21:13

Well thats just typical because currently flat on my back is one of the few positions i get some relief with.

I am already doing the pelvic floor thingys so next i think is a little more regular but gentle exercise.
