Hi all,

I found out last week at just over 35 weeks that baby is extended breech, i have another scan Wednesday where I will be just over 36 weeks to check if he is still breech and if so will choose between ECV or planned c section l, I for some reason just have a bad feeling about the ECV and am more thinking I will go for the planned section.

have felt felt odd this week, I think because I have watched so many positive birth stories and read so many hypnobirthing books just had that in my mind, and just always thought I would experience labour, but now am starting to accept it may be a c section so I just wanted to hear some positive stories of planned sections and what the recovery is like :) or any stories of baby turning naturally late on - have done all the exercises to help haha but can still feel his head under my ribs! X

Hi I found out yesterday that baby is breech, I’m 37+3 and they booked me in this morning for an ecv. I only found out yesterday so I had to think about it overnight before my appointment this morning. I decided to for a C-section instead so I’m going to see my consultant tomorrow to plan it

How did you get on seeing the consultant? :) I was wondering how long they wait to do the c section as I know they like to do it before your due date, I have my scan tomorrow afternoon to confirm he’s still breech them I think I will book a c section and hope that he might still turn beforehand ! X

@hol92 i spoke to my consultant today and he explained the ecv and C-section and I’ve opted to try the ecv. Because it’s not my first baby if they can turn her they will try and break my waters straight away so she doesn’t flip back. If they can’t turn her then I have a section booked for the 16th, a day before I’m due lol. But I’m going Monday for this ecv

Hi, I'm just wondering how you got on with your ECV? I am 37 weeks and have found out the baby is breech and trying to decide between an ECV or a c-section.

Hi my ecv failed, ended up in a C-section. I felt a bit pressured to try the ecv and I wish I had gone straight for the section as baby didn’t like the ecv and became distressed. Good luck in what you decide to do, don’t feel pressured to do anything x

Just to add because baby was distressed I went straight down for a cat 2 section x

Thanks for replying. I think I'm seeing a few too many of these stories to feel comfortable going for the ECV now. I was leaning towards it before and Im actually booked in for one on Thursday but none of the risks were explained to me at all so I didn't realise the issues it could cause until doing my own research.

Good luck in whatever you decide x
