Brown discharge at 24 weeks

I'm 24 weeks and 1 day pregnant - I woke up this morning and noticed I had a little bit of brown discharge and it completed freaked me out (previous MC started this way)

It's settled now and I rang the midwife who explained it could be just from having sex (had sex twice with DP yesterday) and just to maybe calm it down on that front.

It's reassured me a little because obviously we can just cut down on sex...well try to...just wondering if anyone else has had this problem of brown discharge around this stage of pregnancy?

I’d be pushing for a scan personally.

I agree that I'd push for a scan. I have no medical knowledge but I wouldn't feel comfortable with a midwife just saying on the phone that everything is fine. My hospital have a 24/7 advice line - if yours have the same, can you call them (maybe that is who you've called)?

Yeah I rang the 24 hour helpline in the hospital that I'm having the baby in. I can feel the baby kicking loads and the discharge has stopped now. I also rang my mum and sister in law and they both had the exact same thing so that's reassured me a little. So petrified of early labour. This is my first baby and it's just constant worry/stress, really struggling with the constant worry, always seems to be something.

I had brown blood in discharge early last week at 13 weeks and got checked (no sex etc) but I only got checked because I went to my GP and they referred me purely because of 2 previous miscarriages. The midwife just told me it’s fine if brown and not to worry. Turns out everything was fine but EPU told me to call them direct if I bleed again rather than go through the midwife. Again this is only because if my previous miscarriages though as aren’t meant to self refer to the EPU at my local hospital unless over 20 weeks.

If you’re worried and they won’t scan you could you afford a private scan?

Yeah we've had a few of those to date. I think my own mum thinks I've shares in the place lol. Discharge has stopped and baby moving plenty so going to give it a few days and give sex a miss for a while and see how that goes! Thank you to everyone for your words and advice x
