Heavy blood loss at 11 weeks then it stopped

I’m hoping someone can help me.

I’m nearly 11 weeks pregnant. Yesterday I had some random spotting. Alarmed me as it hadn’t happened in my previous pregnancy but remained pragmatic, it can happen.

I spoke to my midwife who advised speaking to the hospital for advice. They told me, as it was out of hours for Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit to monitor it and if it ramped up, to go to A&E.

All day long I had really minor spotting and then suddenly, whoosh, I lost a fair bit of blood and in a bit of a flap, went to A&E. I had twingy pains front and back. They were very kind and tested my wee (still showing pregnant) and took bloods.

At this point things eased off. Blood stoped, twinges faded.

There was a huge wait so she said it might be better to go home but to come back if it ramped up again. Which I did, and it didn’t. The blood has stopped. The pain has stopped.

I’m going to EPAU this morning but I don’t really know what to think.

Sorry, I know it’s a busy board. But bump.

If it’s stopped that does sound like a good sign! I’m sure epu will scan you this morning to check all is okay. Have you had any scans so far this pregnancy?

Thank you for the post. I had an early one at 7 weeks or so (had really severe sickness and was concerned about multiples!) and it was there with a heartbeat.

I’m going to EPU this morning. I’m having an annoying burst of hope about something called threatened miscarriage. Which I hadn’t heard of. But I need to be realistic as it was a lot of loss and I do still have a slight discomfort in my lower back.

I’ve got to go alone to the scan, which is a bit savage, as my H isn’t able to come. I’m not looking forward to that.

@Notsurewhattothinkaboutit good news about the heartbeat that definitely reduces the risk of mc! Have you looked at hematoma (I think that’s what it’s called, might be subchorionic hematoma I can’t actually remember🙈) I didn’t have the bleeding but I was told at my scan I had a pocket of blood left over from implantation that can sometimes make it’s way out weeks later!
Sorry you’ve got to go alone😢 when I went to epu they were so kind so hopefully they’re the same with you

It was a pretty huge haematoma on my uterus like you said @ChloeN. It’s bled a lot more again tonight after I did something that was a bit of light exertion. Nothing major.

Not sure what the future is but currently there is a baby waving around, which I really not expect to see today.

Thanks for responding to my post, I appreciate it.
