My stretch marks have stopped increasing since I started taking collagen

Dreamingof3 · 02/03/2023 11:13

Glad you're all doing well @TeddyBeans

I'm officially over it now. My lower back is on fire, feel like the baby is going to fall out she's so low and I'm up so much in the night 🥱 but could realistically still have 3 or 4 weeks to wait 🙄
My partner doesn't help as he keeps saying he's convinced she'll be here by next week and I don't want to get my hopes up 🤣

Choc2022 · 02/03/2023 11:16

adds collagen to basket
I've started noticing a few stretch marks esp on my breasts which otberwise don't look much bigger

GreenIsle · 02/03/2023 12:43

I wish I had have purchased the pants @TeddyBeans I'm day 4 postpartum and still bleeding heavily. Not sure if the blood thinning injections impact that at all.

I've had a few days mainly in the evening like pp where I had some sad feelings mainly because this is our last baby but feel that the sadness is lifting a little now. Still so early so prepared for more waves of it.

DH had to go back to work because we need the money unfortunately so at home with my 14 month old and baby. Such a learning curve with trying to give him enough attention and the baby because he's very aware of her taking my time and has cried a few times when I've been feeding her which breaks my heart. Overall feel I am managing well so far considering. I don't know what I would do without DH.

muminlndn · 02/03/2023 13:41

@Choc2022 it's worth it if you can to go to your MFAU for monitoring if you feel worried about movements. They put you on a ctg monitor to track your baby's heart rate for a while and if all good, it only takes 20-30 minutes and you can go home reassured.

I had existing red flags on ultrasound scans in my case, but it was when I went in feeling a bit paranoid about reduced movements that the ctg also had a red flag and it was decided baby should be delivered early.

CristinaNov182 · 02/03/2023 13:52

@Choc2022 ive been in for reduced movements twice now, and I was like you, I wasn’t 100% sure the movements were reduced. It’s better to check in any case.

Perexi · 02/03/2023 14:34

Choc2022 · 02/03/2023 11:12

@TeddyBeans thanks I'll purchase some pants also.

I am getting so paranoid about less movements, I didnt feel a lot generally and now I'm not sure if I feel enough or regularly. Spend half my time wondering if it is reduced movements or im not paying attention or whther tjis is normal

I could have wrote this some days I'm on it and I'm well aware he's bouncing around in there others I'm like has he moved yet and super paranoid! I also have little idea of normal but I think that's just as I'm a bit anxious in general.

Suchardchoccy · 02/03/2023 14:51

Congratulations to all the ladies with their babies already born!! And congratulations @TeddyBeans finally!! 🎉

for those breastfeeding, i breastfed DD1 for 6 months and the first two weeks were horrible. Buying a breast pump was a very good investment. It does get easier after the two weeks from my experience, I’m hoping the same happens again this time with DD2 because my nipples and breasts are sore 😂 I’m pumping in the day and breastfeeding at night. I was told the first two weeks were the hardest. Hope this helps!!

Suchardchoccy · 02/03/2023 14:57

Oh and lansinoh nipple cream!!!!

iratepirate · 02/03/2023 14:57

Been for another growth scan bc of that jumping tummy measurement a couple of
weeks ago. All seems back on track and looking more like an anomaly, so no need to see any consultant etc.
Still no chance of a home birth though, due to staffing and gas/air shortages. 🙁

firstlittleone · 02/03/2023 15:16

Suffering with the worst heartburn even with taking Omeprazole daily! It’s making me feel so sick but at a loss as to what else I can do

LifeOfRiley1 · 02/03/2023 15:41

Congratulations @Franklin321 ! 🥰

I had a presentation scan today and it’s been confirmed baby is footling breech. Was offered ECV and declined this - have now been given a section date for 39+1! I don’t think my head has quite had time to process it yet so not sure how I feel about it. I guess my main worries are going through major surgery, and the recovery after this. I’m worried about being an awful mum in the first while after the section as I’ll be limited on what I can do 😩. Any reassurance from ladies that have been through it would be greatly appreciated!

Dreamingof3 · 02/03/2023 17:13

@LifeOfRiley1 it can be quite daunting when you've not been through it before (or even if you have to be honest! Do you have any other children?
I've had 2 sections, so one as a first time mum and then one when my eldest had just turned 3, so I'm happy to answer any questions you might have

Deut28 · 02/03/2023 17:29

@firstlittleone I've had to double my dose in the past few weeks. I spoke to my GP about it first. Now take one morning and one evening. It's helping.

BabyTalbot1 · 02/03/2023 18:35

Just had my first steroid injection. Back tomorrow for the second one. Pressure is still high in the umbilical cord and femur is still measuring small. My partner has a bit of a wobble last night in case something is wrong with the baby. He did a Google search! 🤦‍♀️

havananana · 02/03/2023 18:37

Had some right side and lower belly cramping but only on one side. Went for a walk, will see if tonight there's any more! 🫣

LifeOfRiley1 · 02/03/2023 20:17

@Dreamingof3 I’m a first time mum! I’m just quite a nervous person and I’m worried that on the day, I go to hospital and lose it completely through fear! I’m a bit of a wimp with pain too so the recovery terrifies me. I’m trying to take the positives from it I.e. I can be prepared for it, it should be calm as it’s planned etc. I’m hoping over the next 12 days I can try and get my head around it more and feel a bit more confident!

Dreamingof3 · 02/03/2023 20:23

@LifeOfRiley1 my second section was planned and honestly it was so surreal. Turn up at hospital, sit and wait a bit and then they walk you down to theatre and get started...they're all so calm and it just made me nervous 🤣 afterwards my best advice is be active once they are happy for you to get up, but listen to your body and don't overdo it. Don't be a hero, ask for painkillers of you need them and don't feel like you have to rush home if you don't feel ready. Once home keep on top of your painkillers (even if it's just paracetamol and ibuprofen, alternate them) so that you don't end up with none in your system

JG24 · 02/03/2023 21:44

Has anyone who has had their baby had the Strep test? My midwife has just told me about it today but I've not seen it mentioned anywhere else?

Cats23 · 02/03/2023 22:58

Had Growth scan and consultant again today.
Baby dropped just below 10th centile again 2nd time in 4 weeks, estimated weight 5.5lb (Im 36+1)
Back for doppler next Thurs and examination- if cervix is 'favourable' induction , if not induction at 38 weeks!
How do I make my cervix favourable🤣

Moonicorn · 02/03/2023 23:13

Step away from Google! DD’s femurs trundled down the centiles throughout her scans, started on the 40th and ended up on the 11th or something like that. Only just out of the ‘worry’ zone, so of course I did nothing but and convinced myself there was something amiss. Final scan they grew to the 30th, and at 3 she has long legs - age 4-5 leggings are too short for her but she’s stuck with them as 5-6 are too big around the waist! Please don’t worry.

I’m not disputing the doctors but I’m surprised as 5.5lb sounds quite respectable for 36 weeks. Anyway, plenty of raspberry leaf tea, eat dates and use the breast pump! Plus lots of walking, uphill if you can manage it!

AK93 · 02/03/2023 23:21

@JG24 also curious, my friend said she had Strep B but it’s seemingly not routinely tested for. I believed that it was something that every pregnant person got tested for until my friend said it was only found after something else! I can’t actually remember where I first saw or heard about it that made me think it was a routine test though!

Cats23 · 02/03/2023 23:54

Thanks Moonicorn!
Ive struggled this last few weeks with general physical well being, I feel so heavy and uncomfy so long walks may be out and today Ive had 6 episodes of what I thought were contractions...., seems to have stopped now and the consultant and midwives werent bothered so thats good I guess.

JG24 · 03/03/2023 05:49

@AK93 at the midwife appointment today she said everyone is offered the test when they are in labour in Hospital so that's why I thought it was strange that no one else has mentioned it
