Hba1c levels, have they made a mistake?

Basically I got my Hba1c levels back through my app on Friday. I have only checked my app today. (Taken at 13 weeks pregnant)

My blood glucose on the day is normal at 4.8mmol/l.

My Hba1c however is a whopping 28%!! The part that says mmol/l is not filled out.
After some Googling I've found some of the highest ever recorded is around 22%.

I'm almost certain they were supposed to put the 28 in the mmol/l section rather than the % section if this makes sense? Surely I would feel and be severely poorly and they would have rung me about this immediately if I really was at 28% (which again seems to be off the scale unheard of). Also my blood glucose on the day was totally normal.

I'm going to ring tomorrow when the midwife centre is back open but for now I'm just looking for some reassurance.

And just to add 28mmol/l would be in the correct range for the Hba1c which makes sense, rather than 28%

Yes it should have been in the mmol section, not even sure what the % is and I’ve been a diabetic for about 25 years. 28 equates if my memory is correct, to 4.7 average over the last 3 months. Which I believe is perfect and what would be expected from a non diabetic.

I think the % bit is what the average blood sugar has been, which is how hba1c always used to be given to patients but aren’t any longer. So your 28 mmol is 4.7%. If you average blood sugar was 28 you would be dead 😂
