40+4 days pregnant hoping for a natural birth

Hi everyone I love coming on here to read everybody’s pregnancy stories and experiences but this is the first time posting myself. I am currently 40+4 days pregnant my due date was 22/2/23. I lost my mucus plug 14 days ago but hadn’t had any other signs Labour was near. I had a sweep at 40+1 and had mild pains which seemed to ease off after an hour. Since I have been getting a lot more mucus discharge mostly every day. I have been getting the odd cramp but nothing promising as they seem to go after a few minutes. I am really wishing for a natural birth due to being induced with my first pregnancy and husband not wanting any more children so I would love to experience going natural. Midwife has said I’m 1-2cm 3/5 engaged and baby’s head really low so she is surprised my waters haven’t gone yet. I have another sweep booked for 41+1 however I’m hoping I go before then. I have been getting this discharge (picture attatched) sorry for the TMI! but would you say this is mucus plug or normal pregnancy dishchage and does this look like Labour is soon approaching? I’m also getting pain around my belly button which is a sharp pain has anybody ever had this? Sorry for the long paragraph I’m just new to this and have so many questions!

Hi OP - how are you doing?

Just came to say that my DD was born naturally at 41+6 (and I didn't have even the faintest signs until 41+ 2)

You might find they start to put the pressure on for an induction, with me I was booked in at 41+5. I knew I was going to decline (home birth planned) but they didnt let me just not book the appointment, I had to go in to decline it in person at which point they started to put the pressure on. I left, and DD was born early the next day anyway.

If you had a straightforward pregnancy and there's no issues with baby then stick to your guns! No one can force you to have an induction.
