Weight loss at 28 weeks?

I’ve steadily put on weight since my 2nd trimester, just over a stone in total which I thought was pretty normal.
From what I can tell I should be putting on about 1lb a week at this stage. I’ve lost 2lbs in the last 2 weeks, so technically 4lbs down from the recommended amount.

I know it’s lot a lot but I’m a bit worried if I’m losing weight it might be affecting the baby. I’m not sure if I should ask the midwife but because it’s not loads of weight I don’t want her to think I’m being over the top. Has anyone else found this happened to them?

With my second I didn’t put on any weight at all throughout my pregnancy until the last 2 weeks so I was losing weight while baby was growing. Asked the midwife about it and she said it’s fine. They don’t worry about weight loss or gain unless it’s extreme. Baby will get everything they need from you. I would step away from the scales and not worry about it. Babies fine in there

I think the answer to some extent depends on how much fat you're carrying - I was huge before I got pregnant and lost a stone which was fine (for me). If you've got some spare fat heading in I wouldn't worry. But mention it at the next meet up rather than worry in silence if it keeps going at losing a lb a week.

If you don't have any spare to lose it'd be much more of a concern.
