Im 30 weeks pregnant and colleague enquired about working from home during the early part of next week. As their children all have chickenpox. Under the circumstances l was a bit why would you consider coming in?! To compound it someone at work is part of the way through cancer treatment.

Have you had chickenpox?
It's really only an issue if you haven't had it before.

She wouldn't normally have to stay off unless she had chickenpox herself which would be unlikely as she would probably have had it as a child.

If she's already had chickenpox, which she likely has, she won't be able to pass it on.

It's only dangerous for pregnant women if they haven't already had it.

Sounds as though she's being quite considerate requesting to WFH rather than come in given that she could come in if she wanted.

My 4 year old DS had really severe chickenpox in January when I was 31 weeks pregnant.
From memory my mum thought I'd had a mild case of it myself as a child, midwife wasn't concerned and said the only risk was if you yourself have never had chickenpox.

If you don't think you have had them you can get tested to see if you have antibodies.
