Grumbling appendix 27 weeks causing contractions

I'm 27+2 and yesterday I had awful pains down my right side and top of my tummy. It started about 2pm and gradually got worse. I went on my maternity hospital to get checked out at 11pm as it was just unbearable and I'd been getting painful tightenings.
i went to my maternity hospital and the midwife was concerned as I'd started having painful contractions that she could feel pressing my tummy and they were picked up on the monitor too. My blood pressure was raised and heart rate was raised to 130bpm but I couldn't feel that it was going any faster than usual. A doctor checked me over and put it down to grumbling appendix and the pain had triggered some contractions which were not regular enough to start labour and my cervix was fine.

as it was only a maternity hospital there was nobody that the doctor could get a second opinion from so I was sent home with pain killers. As I'd started some at the hospital the contractions tailed off and my blood pressure and heart rate came down but the pain down my side was still unbearable.
today it's still the same, i can't stand up without being doubled over and walking is also unbearable. The painkillers aren't really helping and I think they're the strongest I can take (dihydrocodeine) and i was only given one days worth.

does anyone have any advice on how long this lasts? I'm so worried about contractions returning, this is my 4th baby and I've never experienced this before. I've had a couple of tightenings today but they haven't felt too bad thanks to the pain relief but the pain in my tummy and right side doesn't seem to letting up.
