Bad morning sickness

Since 4am on Friday morning I have been feeling really badly sick and haven't been able to keep anything down since then. Even plain toast . I'm feeling so weak and worried that I can't eat. I think I will have to take time off work if it doesn't improve by Monday but what if I still can't eat and faint or something?!

I feel you with the morning sickness. I am 9 weeks and have had morning sickness from 6 weeks - first retching and now actual sick. The EPU proscribed me anti sickness tablets when I had a sickness bug the other week so I take them when it's really bad. However there are some days when I can't get out of bed as I feel like I'm on a boat out at sea with the constant nausea. I've found trying to eat small snacks often and before the sickness comes on (I find it's at its worst on an empty stomach Ie when the nausea wakes me at 4am). Keep a packet of crackers or rich teas by your bed. Ginger nuts or ginger tea helps too even just the smell.
Hope you feel better soon try sipping water instead of drinking lots at once and if you can get some anti sickness tablets some you can take up to 3 a day. If it's a bug it might take longer to pass but keep sipping water.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. You need to see your GP for anti sickness medication (and keep going back if the first one doesn’t work). It took me four different medications to find the right one this pregnancy. Also if you feel you are dehydrated you can go to A&E for fluids- I found once I was rehydrated my medication was much more effective.

@Thumberline Thank you - I'll try to go to GP on Monday although I'm not sure what'll happen in the meantime as I really can't keep anything down. I'm not sure if water is making me vomit too yet. This is horrendous!

@maisiedais Yes I will try to keep eating little and often and the Rich Teas are on the bedside table. Thank you! Today I have felt like I can't get out of bed because if I do I'll faint :(

Theres a great hypermesis support group on here if you haven’t found it already. If you feel so bad you can’t get out of bed definitely go to A&E they will give an anti sickness injection to get you through the weekend with the fluids. I found ice lollies were good and orange fanta too but it will be different for everyone I guess. I know some people find cupa soup helpful too.

@Thumberline I actually think that my unlucky stars aligned and caught this sick bug off some other teachers or students at my school! The vomiting is gone and now I have diarrhea sorry for tmi. I am keeping all my fingers and toes crossed that it isn't hypermesis. Thanks Thumberline for advice again. I did buy a packet of ice lollies and am going to GP tomorrow to talk about anti-sickness meds.

I take anti sickness tabs given by OBG regularly and has mixed opinions, Do they harm baby?
