Anxious about cramping

Hi all,

I have had 1x ectopic pregnancy and 1x missed miscarriage at 8 weeks pregnant.

I have recently had a HSG procedure to look whether my remaining fallopian tube is blocked… they said that it wasn’t.

I have now found out that I’m pregnant and am around 4 weeks today. I have sore breasts, frequent urination, but I have also been experiencing cramping. So far I have not had any bleeding, but I feel extremely anxious that something is going to happen.

have others experienced this? Or do you have any tips for relieving anxiety?

I have attached a picture of my line progression as I have found this reassuring, but I know it doesn’t mean that things will go well x

Hello and congratulations on your BFP! 🤗

Cramping is normal at this stage and if I remember rightly, it's just the little bean burrowing in/making itself very comfy in there. Google implantation cramping and you should find a whole host of things about it. I remember getting the most horrible electric shock cramps when I sneezed and it terrified me!

I was a nervous wreck from day 1 so I'm probably not the best person to advise on how to manage your anxiety 😅try not to over test, it's not uncommon to see little difference in the line progression and I think there is such a thing as over-analysing. I stopped testing when I saw 3+ on the digital tests but I know some people have never gotten 3+ to show on the test and still had a healthy baby. For me, the only thing that got me through was my partner reassuring me/reminding me to have faith in our little bean. I had next to no symptoms (just tiredness) so that didn't help either. I booked an early scan for 8w and counting down the days to that helped me. I ended up getting an even earlier scan at 6w3d from the early pregnancy unit as I was having cramping then too and they wanted to rule out ectopic.

Anyway, said I am now 18+5 with said bean, who is a little boy💙

Congratulations on your pregnancy OP!

From my own experience, cramping is perfectly normal and to be expected at the beginning of pregnancy as the little one makes its nest. I remember feeling those same cramps in the first few weeks and not knowing whether they were a good or bad thing.
I'm now 24+1 and still have cramps once in a while as the uterus expands, sadly they don't stop at the same time as periods! 😊
