So I’m due to start getting my sweeps from 8th March before my planned induction at 39 weeks. But I have really bad anxiety that it could set my labour off get to 3-4cm and then I get to the hospital and my contractions just stop. 🙈🙈 don’t want to be back and to to the hospital with having two little ones already. If that happens would they send me home or keep me in does anyone know?

Hi, I wouldn't know the answer to your question but I'm in a similar boat ATM, though 36 weeks 3 days pregnant with #3, 2 sweeps booked for July.

How did it go for you? Pls let me know.

So I started getting contractions on the 4th March. Went to labour and delivery and they saw the contractions. Checked me over and I was 3-4cm so they took me to delivery suite. Contractions were regular and 3 minutes apart. But after 4 hours when they checked me again said I was only 1-2cm! so got sent home and told they didn’t expect me to make it past the 5th but I did. Had a sweep on the 8th and midwife said I was 4-5cm and she couldn’t understand how I hadn’t gone yet. But did another sweep in the hopes it would get things going!
went in that night with strong regular contractions and they checked me over and said I was only 1-2cm!!!
so I burst into tears because I couldn’t understand what was happening and why I kept going back down.
turns out the baby was bobbing in and out. So when she bobbed down it was making my cervix go to a 4-5cm. Because of the pressure of her head. And when she bobbed out I was going back to a 1-2cm without the pressure of her.
in the end my induction got brought forward to 38 weeks because I had a bladder prolapse and couldn’t physically wee so had an emergency induction.
waters broken at 9:30pm and she was out at 11:42pm the same night.
hopefully your sweeps go more smoothly then mine did!

Hello @Stressedmummy94 !!! Oh my goodness...!! What a story...thanks sooo much for sharing! Wow. I've never heard of that- babies bobbing in and out. I can imagine how stressful and crazy it must've been for you :((

Honestly, thank you very much for such a prompt update- now, if that was to happen to me, I will remember your story to help me get through it.

Thank you for your well wishes too and I hope your baby girl is a doing good and sleeping well x

@SoInLuv no worries :) think because she was my third she had more space. Apparently quite common after your first!
and baby is doing well been an angel compared to my other two. Slept through since about 5 weeks. She’s a dream!
