I’m 18 weeks and still waiting for those first little flutters!

had a tough first trimester and very glad to not be feeling sick anymore, but now I miss the reassurance the sickness bought that everything was ok in there - no winning over here! Lol

With my first it was about 16 weeks but not until after 20 weeks with my second! Made me a bit worried but all was absolutely fine, so it must have been something to do with the position of the baby etc. 🤷‍♀️

Do you know if you have an anterior or posterior placenta. It makes a difference to when you will feel movements. With an anterior it could be up to 24 weeks until you feel anything and that’s normal. I had an anterior with my first and again with this one but I’m only 13+5 so not expecting anything yet anyway but know it will be awhile.

I have anterior placenta and only just started to feel some flutters at 22 weeks (but it can take longer). My obgyn said it's normal not to feel anything until week 24.

I'm 18 weeks in a few days and haven't felt any her, 3rd baby too

I'm currently 15w2d first child but felt nothing so far. I had a very easy first trimester with very little symptoms but because of this have been worried about baby development the entire time as there was nothing to go on!

J1290 · 24/02/2023 09:56

First baby 22 weeks
second baby 19 weeks
this baby anterior placenta but still around 20 weeks and super strong by 22 weeks placenta hadnt affected my movements at all

Buntymcgiggle · 24/02/2023 12:26

I have an anterior placenta and I felt movement from about 17 weeks.

20-21 weeks with all three of mine. I assume it will be the same with this one too

Hi ladies,
ive been worrying about this for a week or two now, weirdly it’s good to hear I am not alone. This is my 4th baby and I felt flutters with my other 3 at around 15 weeks but I am 18 weeks now and nothing! I’m under a lot of stress at the moment though so maybe that is why, no quiet time to really take notice ? Or I’m just worrying for no reason, I don’t know. Pregnancy is such a rollercoaster isn’t it?

Amy5261 · 25/02/2023 15:12

thank you ladies this has made me feel much better! Have our 20 week scan soon so hopefully I will feel a bit reassured once I have seen baby again and I will ask about the placenta position too.

@Loveteathebest , SUCH a rollercoaster! I can’t even remember now when I first started feeling movements with my first, strange how you get so worked up about it at the time then as soon as it happens forget how worried you were!
