Can I fly internationally at 27 weeks pregnant?

We're thinking of booking a holiday in a European country, so maybe a 3-4 hour flight from Manchester airport. Has anyone flown internationally at this stage of pregnancy? How was it for you? Did you have to ask your doctor? I don’t have any pregnancy complications (I am currently 20 weeks 5 days pregnant and not really showing). I would really appreciate some advice! Thanks :)

Hi @PregnantQuestions

Yes I have 😊I flew to Dubai from London at 26+6 and flew home bang on 28 weeks. I got a fit to fly letter from the midwife just in case (also low risk pregnancy) but wasn’t asked for it.

I probably wouldn’t have flown any later, but that’s mostly because I was so anxious of getting DVT I set an alarm every 30 minutes throughout the night flight to walk around 🤣aside from that and the frequent toilet trips, it was just lovely to be away for the last time before baby comes, so you should be absolutely fine. Enjoy!

Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s my first pregnancy so I’m nervous about what I should do. I want a holiday before the baby is here though!
