SPD pain in pregnancy

This is my third baby, I'm currently 19 weeks and I'm experiencing spd earlier and a lot more painful than before. I am really struggling with sitting and then getting horrendous pain in my public bone when I get up, which is making it hard for me to walk. This is becoming an issue for me at work as I'm desk based. Anyone have any tips or advice. I'm seeing an osteopath privately.

Sorry to hear you're suffering with SPD. I also developed it around 20 weeks. I saw both a women's health physio and osteopath and found the physio treatment (sports massage and exercises) much more effective than the osteopath. I guess it depends on the individual practitioner you're seeing, but something to think about if you're looking for alternative treatments.

I used a standing desk and alternated sitting and standing and sat on a dining table type chair with a support cushion (one with coccyx cut out). Not sure if this type of chair is available in your office (I wfh) but I strangely found it helped my symptoms more than any cushioned or office chair.

For the pubic bone pain specifically, gently pelvic tilts when sat on a chair and exercise ball seemed to really help.

I had been in the gym and running prior to my pain so cut that out but found swimming front crawl and gentle slow walking didnt aggravate the pain and helped me to keep moving.

Hope you find a release from your discomfort soon

Another vote for physio! You may be able to refer yourself directly through your GP practice or midwife

Thank you for your replies. I've asked for physio on the nhs, so will check the referral again. Unfortunately no option to wfh. I've been looking at the pillows you mentioned, so I'll order one now. I'm in pain just laying on the sofa. It's so much worse this pregnancy than the past two pregnancies. Hopefully the physio can give me some exercises to help
