2nd pregnangy. 3rd trimester. Done about 3 half hearted clenches in the past month.

Apparently having to cross my legs when I sneeze isn't terrifying enough. What is wrong with me?

MAKE me do them, Mumsnet.

OMG! When should I start doing these then?!

ThePFJ · 10/02/2008 11:29

NOW. And FOREVER.

discoverlife · 10/02/2008 11:38

I am 44, after 3 kids, I cannot run around with them, do the gardening or bounce on the trampoline with them because I will pee myself. Is that what you want to hear?
A male friend was being ribbed about not having a girlfriend and I mentioned that older women are more experienced, his answer was. 'Yes they are available, but they all smell of wee wee'. I started doing my Pelvic floor exercises the same hour.

My moment of truth was when ds2 was about 3 months old. I was visiting my sister, and got a tummy bug. Well as I was throwing up in her car I also wet myself. It was doubly mortifying.

I am currently having a course of electro stimulation of my pelvic floor which, believe me, is not as much fun as it sounds.

My physio has told me to do PFE twice a day - when I'm cleaning my teeth- which has worked for me so far. After 3 children, I had been rubbish at doing them and I'm now doing them at least twice a day

lollipopmother · 10/02/2008 15:13

Tommy - how many does your physio say you should do per day then?

discoverlife · 10/02/2008 16:36

Mine has told me to do , 5 lots of 5 through the day. I try to remember to do them after evreytime I wee.

BroccoliSpears · 10/02/2008 17:48

This thread has worked. I am utterly resolved and have done more PFEs in the last 2 days than I have in the last 2 trimesters.

I've got serious horror stories which you may find if you search some of my threads,I won't detail them now as DD reading over my shoulder. All I can say is "DO YOUR PELVIC FLOOR EXCERCISES".

BroccoliSpears · 11/02/2008 14:35

I hope everyone has been squeezing and holding today.

I always do my excercises whilst driving.

you need a trigger to remind you. Everytime you are on mumsnet is a good idea.

Rochwen · 11/02/2008 16:28

the things we didn't know before we had babies, eh?

it's a different world out there now, lol.

sweetkitty · 11/02/2008 16:30
