Gender Scan

I've just had my 20wk scan and I'm apparently in one of the health boards in Scotland that don't tell you gender (due to historic abuse and legal threats which I can completely understand). However they seemed to imply I could find out by going for a private scan or asking online. Does anyone have any recommendations for if I should do this/where/how much it would cost?

My private scan was about £70 but they vary.

At the 12 week scan a nub can sometimes be seen. If u go to nub experts they can tell you what they think it is. They were right for me but I wouldn't go out buying boy or girl stuff based on what they think.

They gave me a photo but it's a close up off the top half so there's nothing to interpret!

Oh no! I’m Scotland too but didn’t realise some didn’t offer it. I went to window to the womb at 16 weeks last time and it was really good. You get an app to log in to and you get a video of your baby moving to keep. You can add on a heartbeat bear (I still have my son’s in his room) and if you want any gender reveal balloons etc. I went to quite a few private places for early scans etc but I’m going back to window to the womb again for gender scan this time, mainly because of the little video you get of them

I’m in England and my trust doesn’t tell you gender either. Google ultrasound places near to you to find somewhere. Make sure you check reviews before booking. Window to the womb had terrible reviews when I booked, ended up going to a lovely local place

OP our healthboard is the same, not too bothered though as we are having a surprise. Private scan for sex is between £60-75
