Tutti bambini Cozee lining and cot bumpers

Hello

I am 31 weeks and deep in the trenches of buying things for our expected little one. I’m reading what I can to check everything we are getting is safe and my midwife has offered some advice too but says she legally can’t ok a product which I understand. The thing is I understand cot bumpers are not recommended due to the padding and suffocation risk. However, the removable lining of the tutu bambini Cozee we have bought looks not dissimilar (I haven’t actually seen a cot bumper in person just pics). Can anyway explain to me why the lining of this crib is fine in a way that cot bumpers aren’t? I don’t want to just assume the crib is safe because it’s so popular.

thank you!

The tutti bambini cozee has a breathable mesh so air can still flow and as a lining it can’t come loose. It will also be certified as conforming to cot safety regulations. Cot bumpers aren’t safe not just because of the suffocation risk if a baby gets stuck against it but also because they could come untied (so the ties are a strangulation or tangling risk) and because they can limit airflow so there is a risk of baby overheating xx

Ha, ok I guess this one really is just me needlessly worrying then. Thank you for your reply growbaby.
