FTM due in May..
what do I need to buy?!

please give your lists of essentials - I feel so overwhelmed! Bought nothing so far

Pram
Car seat
Moses basket
Baby monitor (one with temp & white noise)
Cellular blankets
Muslins
Bibs
Popper vests
Babygros
Grosnug/baby sleeping bags
Simple toys/baby books etc
Baby bath or bath support
Baby friendly soap/sponge/flannel
Wipes
Nappies
Sudocrem/metanium
Dummies if using
Change bag (rucksack type)

If breastfeeding:
Breast pads
Nipple cream
Nursing bras/clothes

If bottle feeding:
Bottles
Steriliser
Pump/formula
Perfect Prep machine

Things you need later on (6 months):
Cot
High chair
Bowls, spoons, lidded containers for food
Stick blender if using blended/pureed food
Baby cup with handles

Remember that you don’t have to have everything straightaway. They need clothes, somewhere to sleep and a method of feeding them. Anything extra you can decide on later. If you feel you need something after they’re here then there are plenty of places who do next day delivery. Or a lot of essentials can be picked up at the supermarket. We didn’t buy enough vests but DH just grabbed some with the food shop.

For my 2 I had a moses for the living room and a next to me type crib for the bedroom. Bouncy chair and lots of clothes (more than you think) plus loads of muslins and bibs. Nappies/wipes (get different brands to see what you like) and some sudocrem and metanium (yellow one). A pram and car seat and bottles and a steriliser. We got everything off marketplace and it was all in amazing condition.

You don’t need all the fancy stuff, it is so expensive and most of the time not useful at all
