Hey, just wondered if anyone had an Anesthetic check/appointment while pregnant.
I've got one tomorrow morning as I'm having another c section. (1st csection was emergency)
What happens at this appointment?
Thanks 😊

if it’s just a routine appointment ahead of an elective section then it’ll be just taking a medical history and planning the anaesthetic. Depending on how far in advance it is if the date they may do bloods as well. If it’s an appointment because the obstetricians thing something that may make the anaesthetic more complicated then it’ll depend what that problem is.

@KateC1x1 extrapolating from other appointments for different procedures, they like to have a pre-anisthetic check appointment to get any history relevant.
e.g existing respitory or cardiac issues.
For me If you've ever had a precedure with anesthetic they'll check for any complications or issues for it. For example, I struggle with the gas form. It makes me throw up.
I think they check blood pressure as well. Its been a while, but its a fairly routine thing.
