Toothache in pregnancy

I’m eight weeks pregnant, and have had a toothache since yesterday. I get a twinge of pain in one tooth when I drink anything cold, or eat. It feels like it has a sharp point on it, which I’m concerned is a chip. I called my dentist yesterday (Monday), but they have no appointments until next Monday. I told them I was pregnant, but they said it was fine to wait and to just use Sensodyne. Should I do a ring round of other dentists to try and get an appointment? I don’t want it deteriorating. Any advice would be welcome! x

I would think waiting until Monday won't be an issue - just avoid eating on that tooth and drink through a straw. I've had a fair bit of dental work this pregnancy - seems to play havoc with my teeth. Any heavy treatment is best done in the second trimester anyway as I understand it.

Also I'd be surprised if any other dentists would see you - especially sooner than Monday as you already have a registered dentist. If you aren't in agony I would wait, if it is really sore maybe try a dental hospital.
