When did your morning sickness ease?

Hi all!

I'm currently 9+2 and I've just been reading that morning sickness is worse around weeks 9/10? I'm 24/7 nauseous at the moment with a few dashing to the toilet bowl trips a day! Don't get me wrong I'm not constantly in the bathroom like some poor women are..

When did your sickness start to ease? I've read anywhere between 12 and 16 weeks but I'm going to be so down if this carries on for another 7 weeks... My diet is terrible at the moment & I just want to be able to stomach healthy foods again and get some nutrients in!

Mine improved significantly after 14 weeks, but I’m still being sick a few times a week at 18. Praying it goes soon!

Overandabove1 · 20/02/2023 17:40

Mine was at it worst between 9-11 weeks it was horrible but after that was fully gone by around week 13!

Miraclesdohappen88 · 20/02/2023 18:00

My sickness started at week 9 and was bad until week 15. Still being sick about twice a week at nearly 17 weeks! Consultant said it should definitely improve by 18 weeks.

tammmytam · 20/02/2023 18:56

Mine started at 7 weeks and is still going on at 21 weeks unfortunately (although controlled by medication). I'd really recommend speaking to your GP about going on medication that can help, I wouldn't have been able to cope without it

J1290 · 20/02/2023 19:09

Have HG badly but deffo peaked for 10 weeks ended up in hosp. And it subsides for me around 17 weeks and i can reduce meds
everyone is so different so hard when u dont know when and if it ends

Ireallywantsomechips · 20/02/2023 20:10

Mine eased about 14 weeks for my first
but with my second it eased at 17 weeks but would sporadically return right until the end 😭

Daisy0909 · 20/02/2023 20:19

Thanks all that have responded! I'm not filled with confidence that it's going to disappear at 12 weeks which is what I'd convinced myself it would do 😂 it's all worth it of course but sending love to those that are suffering with HG!

I had terrible nausea from 6-11 weeks then started throwing up at 11ish weeks. I’m almost 13 and I feel the worst I’ve ever felt. I really hope it’s over soon!!

FlyOnTheWall89 · 21/02/2023 05:55

@Daisy0909 mine eased from week 11 but I didn't feel fully myself again until week 15/16. Then the dreamy part came where I felt fantastic - you'll get there!!! X

Moosh18 · 21/02/2023 06:42

Hey @Daisy0909 I'm sorry you are struggling, I had it horrifically in this pregnancy, I was sick every hour or so or felt it all day long. I honestly couldn't see an end in sight, I'd say it was probably worst for me 9-12 then ever so slightly more bareable. It mainly eased at 16 and then came back around 20, but not as bad, I still feel sick at least once a day but think that's acid I think omzeprol has helped. I really hope you feel better soon xx

Gizzymac · 21/02/2023 10:27

Mine eased off at about 13-14 weeks, it was worse in week 10 and 11 I think. I remember staring at my calendar in week 9 thinking I couldn't even bear another fortnight of it! It is truly horrible, but you will get through it in the end.

Daisy0909 · 21/02/2023 10:43

Thanks @doughyparton @FlyOnTheWall89 @Moosh18 & @Gizzymac

At the moment all I'm eating is dry toast, crisps etc and then after tea time it does ease if I force myself to eat a big enough meal. So I am lucky in that by 7/8pm it's worn off and I can sleep it off but the rest of the day it's just the constant feeling of nausea & I feel guilty I'm not eating the right things but it's all I can stomach!

Sorry to hear some of you are still having it up to 15/16 weeks!

I'm definitely looking for the light at the end of the tunnel and I'm sure I'll get there soon enough!

DC1 roughly a couple of hours after he was born. DC2 was much better though and had more or less gone by 12 weeks.

Congratulations on your PG Flowers

callmesophia · 21/02/2023 11:23

With my first 3 kids it had eased off by 12 weeks and I felt great in the second trimester (I was awful as well, constant nausea... couldn't even open the fridge 🤢). I am currently 10+5 with baby number 4 and still nauseous but not as bad as past weeks... I think.

Moosh18 · 21/02/2023 11:54

@Daisy0909 I used to cry at the thought of it lasting another week let alone 7 or whatever it was, but you will get through it I promise, just take it day by day, I found iced water through a bottle with a straw helped, with lemon, I was perscribed cyclizine which also took the edge off xx

Daisy0909 · 21/02/2023 12:15

@PritiPatelsMaker thank you!

@callmesophia I'm with you on the fridge, I have to hold my breath and quickly grab what I need and runnnn. It's awful! Had that since about 6 weeks!

@Moosh18 thank you I'll give the lemon water a go! I did have a cry this morning my OH was concerned thinking the worst had happened and I was just crying about being sick haha!

My midwife did say I could ask for anti sickness but I think when I'm only been sick a couple of times a day and its more just feeling nauseous all the time, I talk myself out of needing a prescription and that there are others far worse off than me!

Mine eased at 16 weeks with the help of some anti sickness tablets prescribed by the gp. Hope it eases for you and you get some relief. I know how awful it can be x
