Multiple C-sections close together ?

Who knows anyone that's had more then 3 csections and has been fine, both mother and child ? Also when's the closest time apart has someone had csections ? and how soon after a c section did you fall pregnant ?

(I have had two csections (emergency&elective) and I've found out I'm pregnant again only 3months after my elective c section.)

Not quite but had two sections 13 months apart. All was good, about to have 3rd 10 years later!

Heyyy I have just found out I’m pregnant for the third time and I am freaking out as it wasn’t planned and I have already had 2 sections, the last one only 12 months ago. How have you been? I’m so scared that something will go wrong as I didn’t intend to have a third after already having 2 xxx

I had two electives 11 months apart with the latest one being twins. No complications to note.

I’ve had two so far (both emergencies) that were 3 years apart but I’m 35 weeks pregnant now and due a c section at 39 weeks and my youngest is 21 months. Definitely feeling nervous but the baby has to come out somehow and I’ve been advised this is the safest. I imagine that’ll be the same for you with them being so close together.

HappyHolidays22 · 31/08/2023 10:16

@JumbledE - my youngest will be 21 months too when I am due. I am sure they will advise a 3rd section for me too. Has everything been ok for you so far? I really am having doubts about whether I should continue with my pregnancy.

I had two EMCS 15 months apart, and am pregnant so will have ELCS - meaning I’ll have had 3 sections in under 4 years. I’m on extra monitoring but that’s due to placental stuff (unrelated complications). You’ll be fine! hospitals are very used to supporting it.

HappyHolidays22 · 31/08/2023 10:17

@Callmemummynotmaaa - thank you for sharing. That does make me feel better!

Callmemummynotmaaa · 31/08/2023 10:18

@HappyHolidays22 they may not automatically recommend a section unless you want one? I was allowed to try VBAC for my second (it failed but not due to anything related to prior surgery) and have been asked what I want for this pregnancy. It’s really not unusual at all to have a 21 month gap between c sections!

My sister had 4 in 7 years. However the surgeon did tell her the scar was wearing thin and she shouldn't have any more children.

SisterAgatha · 31/08/2023 10:20

My experience was good but I only had two.

Babies are 14 months apart, they repaired the damage made the first time, during the second op, so all the pain I’d had after the first one was massively reduced.

Tulipvase · 31/08/2023 10:23

I had 3 sections, all roughly 2 years apart. I was advised by the surgeon after my third to very carefully consider any further pregnancies as my uterus was pretty thin. But all 3 were fine at the time and no complications.

HappyHolidays22 · 31/08/2023 11:09

Thanks everyone - I suppose your comments alleviate my concerns a little as everyone was ok but also bolster them at the same time. I wish they could tell me now whether my scar/uterus is too thin as it would make any decision about whether to continue with the pregnancy easier. I think I’ll make an appointment with my dr to talk it all through

JumbledE · 31/08/2023 13:05

@HappyHolidays22 everything has been fine. They would have let me try for a Vbac but baby is not in a great position. I am definitely at the point feeling fed up and heavy now though, ready for baby to arrive! They don’t seem at all worried about it being a third C-section to be honest.

My sister in law has had 5 in 8 yeats. She has been told though she would be risking her health if she had anymore.
