8 weeks pregnant and pretty sure I have the flu.
Been poorly for over a week now, fever subsided after 48 hours.
Nasty cough and my nose is currently like a tap. Slight runny tummy.
Has anyone experienced flu early pregnancy and baby been fine?
Been taking paracetamol for the fever.

I had the horrible flu virus that went round before Xmas, haven't been so ill in a very long time! Had a fever which broke overnight but was high enough to worry me, and obviously just managing with paracetamol! Was about 8 weeks too, baby is absolutely fine. I had a scan after to check and totally fine and now I'm 19 weeks and still good, bopping about and starting to feel him now.

Mine became an upper respitory tract infection and Dr gave me antibiotics to me on safe side as I'm pregnant so no harm in letting Dr know if you feel you're getting worse/it's not shifting. Took over a month for me to lose the cough. Hope you feel better soon!

Sorry to hear you are going through this @rainbowMIT but try not to worry.
I had the flu at the worst time (4-6 weeks after conception) and I got it again at 16 weeks and baby is looking all good so far (I’m now 22 weeks).
I was also so poorly with it I was hospitalised (temperature through the roof).

Can pregnant women still access the flu vaccine even though in a few weeks it will be the end of the flu season?

firsttimelondonmummy · 19/02/2023 12:32

@SouthwestSis yes they can!

Nik84 · 19/02/2023 14:35

Yes @SouthwestSis I had mine on Thursday

Thank you ladies. So glad to hear your pregnancy's are going well 💓

Fingers crossed mine will stick and be healthy 🤞🏻 Iv never felt so poorly in years! Typical!
My scan isn't for another 3 weeks 😖

And hopefully I'll get the flu jab around then. Even tho it seems to late 😫

@rainbowMIT it’s never too late.
I stupidly believed I had natural immunity then caught it within 3 months of my first bout.
Wish I’d got the jab after the first time 🤦🏻‍♀️
