Placenta Accreta/Precreta

I am 24 weeks pregnant and doctor suspects I have this - won’t know for sure till my 28week scan to what extent it is. I’m being closely monitored anyway due to a previous late miscarriage and am a high risk pregnancy because of this, age and 3 previous sections. The doctor has talked me through all of the possible outcomes, but I would welcome hearing from anyone who has experience of either. Thanks.

Hey @telllaura so I've not actually had this, but I had it picked up at my 20'week scan they thought I did, I was monitored close sky until 28 weeks and then my placenta had moved and cleared OS, did they offer you an mri?! X

Thank you - I think the MRI will be offered following 28 eeek scan, if needed. I am very much hoping for a similar outcome to you x

@telllaura did they have another reason as to think it was accreata other then it covering the os? They were so sure I had it they offered me a mri earlier then 28 weeks but I opted to wait, which was stupid as I drove myself insane x

I have had it before with a previous miscarriage - my risk factors all point to it - I am not going to enjoy waiting for the next 4 weeks! x

Not had it myself but a close friend had her baby last week and she had it. She had an MRI to diagnose fully was closely monitored until delivery at 36 weeks. Surgery took 5.5 hours and her placenta was attached to her bladder so had stitches in there too. A week on and she's home with baby making a good recovery. I'd never even heard of it until my friend.

Had a search and found your thread, wondering how you are getting on? I am all but confirmed to have accreta, awaiting on my MRI appointment which should be next week.
