I've recently found out I'm pregnant (currently only 5+1), and this is the 3rd night in a row that I'm awake itching! It's mainly on my torso, bit on my legs and arms and scalp but it's driving me mad. Is it normal? will it stop?! It's not been too bad in the day, but by the night time my skin is almost burning.

I had this in my last pregnancy from the second trimester onwards. Use bio oil to get moisture into your skin. I had to cut labels out of all of my clothes, buy seamless knickers and avoid clothing that irritated my skin. I had a pair of maternity pjs I couldn’t even bear to pick up but the day after I gave birth I could wear them without the irritating me one bit! Also changed soaps and products to sensitive skin ones. Once I made these changes it was so much easier. Hope this helps!

Please look up Obstetric Cholastasis and mention your itching to your midwife tmrw xxx

The itching subsided by the 2nd trimester, and have a healthy 4 month old now! It appeared to just be the effect of raging hormones for me- by the time cholastasis would have been a concern the itching had long stopped
