Aspirin & Hypothyroidism

Previously I had Graves’ disease which is Hyperthyroidism, last year I got a total thyroidectomy and I’m currently on levothyroxine and pregnant 16 weeks and 6 days. I get my TSH tested regularly as well.
Throughout my pregnancy nothing was mentioned about aspirin.
I attended my 16 week midwife appointment yesterday and aspirin was flagged on my file due to having an autoimmune disease.
my baby is growing fine my blood pressure is always okay.
The midwife said she’d rather have me on aspirin due to having hyperthyroidism before.
Is this really necessary?
I wasn’t given an explanation for example it could help prevent preeclampsia or other issues as this was my own research.
Could I have problems with my baby later on in the pregnancy if I don’t take it?

I can’t answer with any helpful info really but didn’t like to leave you hanging.

I’ve been advised to take it daily from 12 weeks because of family history of pre-eclampsia, but they assured me it’s safe and shouldn’t have any side effects. I was a bit shocked as didn’t really expect it and I don’t like the idea of taking things if I am well, but if in the long run it’s putting me or the baby at higher risk then I need to do it. It came off a risk assessment at my booking appt and one of my two factors is that it’s my first pregnancy, so I feel like a lot of people would probably fit into that category if they also have a family history of risk factors.

I would definitely ask for more info if you’re concerned at all and just get further clarification. I’m sure they’d rather you ask than worry about it. That said I’m trying not to Google and just go off what they’re saying otherwise I feel like I’ll end up down a rabbit hole!

I was put on it last time due to low pap a, it apparently thins the blood to get more blood flow to the placenta.

They put you on aspirin for different reason...mine was being over 40 and having last pregnancy over 10 years ago 😁 I don't think is much about baby, more about your wellbeing and to obviously as baby is dependant on you I would take it if adviced.
